    Good morning!!

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY MUMMYSAVER!! birthday.gif

Had a flurry of snow last night to top up the levels again! ;)

Last load in WM, managed to get it all dry overnight as heating left on low.

Usually I'm out with a friend on Saturday but today I'm making the most of my enforced "stay at home day" & will get some cooking done.

Got some reduced fresh chicken livers yesterday so hoping to turn them into pate. Does anyone have a tried & tested recipe? I usually use one from the frozen chicken liver packet but I have run out! Wish I'd written it down!

Soup, curry, shepherds pie & lasagne also on to do list so better get on with it!

    Hugs to those in need!

    TTFN

Off to do the oldies grocery run in a mo so any suggestions of bits that may come in handy would be appreciated (things they may not see as essential but would be of comfort)

Well better get my lists sorted

    Morning everyone.
Was up for 2 hours with DS last night so had a lie in this morning. Now have a banging headache  Can't ruddy win - either feel dog tired all the time or end up with a headache grrrrrr.

Me and H off out to see old work friends tonight. Only in local town so I shall pack sensible shoes in the car but wear my lovely 4 inch red stilletoes (sp?) as where we are meeting has basement parking so no outside walking :D
Sky looks full of snow but we're not supposed to be having any more until tomorrow. Had a few flakes but nothing significant so far. I wonder once the thaw does hit what the siutation will then be regarding flooding

So we might be eating out tonight so nothing planned meal wise. Got some house work to do but head is banging at mo so can't face moving about too much :(

Mummysaver - Happy birthday  Have a good day :D

NPM - hugs to you - any chance of a nap for you later? xx

Sallypurple - welcome to the thread. Hope you stick around :)

Legalblonde - hugs for you. January blues are not nice xx

Bargainbird - My brother used to have a Scooby - people were forever trying to steal it  Hope you don't have that problem when you finally get to collect it. Hope poorly DD is better soon.

Redruby - crossing my fingers that your move goes OK on Monday. Mind you when I worked in solicitors accounts it was the moving of the money that normally meant people didn't move :rotfl:

jc - good luck with your no kitchen meal plan. I saw your other thread but came up blank when I was trying to come up with suggestions :o

Diva - Hope you're OK and that Tris is still hanging in there xx And hope Treacle hasn't had any more fits.

Right I need to go and hang up some washing etc.
Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.

When Mum got elderly and lost her appetite she seemed to live on soup so I'd suggest getting some sort of mix as well as cans. That way, there's a supply no matter how bad the weather gets.

Custard and rice pud are wonderful comfort grub in this weather and those tins of Heinz puds (spotted !!!!!!/chocolate pudding/jam roly poly) can be opened and cooked in the microwave in minutes and are under a quid.

    Good morning guys,

-4 today but the sunshine is beautiful. No plans to go out today as we have everything we need so that will save on the washing and ironing! :D

LO is playing Madagascar on the DS and DD is helping DS1 to paint some roads and grassy areas on printer paper ready to be glued to a large piece of cardboard (which they intend to rescue from the recycling place down the road after lunch edit - just realised that scuppers the no washing for today idea.. LOL) as he wants to build up a city with his lego.

Os today - well the bedrooms look like a Sh*t tip again despite my best efforts yesterday so after lunch they can go and sort them out. I want to get the deccies up to the attic and :othe ironing:o - not done last night due to having just one more game on the lappy  The usual clean through down here when the kids have gone to bed, and wash down the kitchen units.

Lunch will be beans on toast and I have a 3 bird roast from Lidl to go in the oven this afternoon but without the marmlade topping bit cos the kids hated that last time. I think we will have it with all the trimmings today and the leftovers can make a casserole in the SC for tomorrow. I will cube and freeze any left over meat for a curry later in the week.

Mummysaver - Happy birthday  I hope you have a good one.

Hugs to all in need today and take care out there peeps.

    Thanks Justcoll and Sally :D
Never thought to add any of those! I suppose when you make a lot of stuff from scratch you forget the readymade stuff :o
    I've added semolina,tapioca,custard,sponge puds,soups and biccies.
I've got more than enough ingredients to make these from scratch too if needed.
Think I might bung a few readymeals in too as meals on wheels have been a bit patchy..not due to lack of trying bless them:A its just too icy for the vans to get in here.
Have checked their safecall bells are all working and they all have spare fleeces etc..might sort out some of our spare torches/check they have one too as we do get powercuts even when the weathers fine
