I am currently on Broadband only with Talk Talk and was paying £12 a month. I rang them up to cancel and they dropped my monthly rental to £7.99 for 18 months (to match a BT offer). My phone line rental is still with BT.0

Be Broadband is even better at 7.50 a month. It gets excellent customer service reviews too (unlike TT). O2 is very good too if you qualify for the existing customer discount (and I think the there's still cashback available and the usage is unlimited). Both contracts are only 12 months, not 18.frames1_uk wrote: »that's good! What BT offer was it that they were matching?0

I had a letter through the post saying I could get BT internet for £7.99 for 18 months. It gave a code to quote but said it was not an open offer and exclusive to the recipient - not sure if that's 100% true or not. Don't know why they chose me as most offers are for £7.99 for 3 months and then full price after that. Anyway TT matched it and are posting me out a new router to go with it too.frames1_uk wrote: »that's good! What BT offer was it that they were matching?0

Hi all, Just before xmas I moved from Sky to Tiscali. This was supposed to be for phoe, broadband and TV, however tehy were unable to install TV as I was getting insufficent bandwidth. So i now have TV with Sky and phone and broadband with Tiscali. I have a big problem with the Broadband because when I work from home and connect to the office via VPN, I have limited access to what I can do for eg I can access outlook but not shared drives and intranet. Having tried for weeks now troubleshooting I have got nowhere. Does anyone know what the problem is? Apparently Tiscali routers (Thomson TG585 v7) come pre-configured and the settings cannot be changed and interestingly they are now saying they do not support VPN's. Having talked to the IT guys at work they are saying it is down to Tiscali as the ISP somehow blocking a port or some other thing. However Tiscali have stated that they do not block ports and that if I can connect to the internet generally then there must be aproblem with my VPN - this is not the case as it works from a friends Broadband connection. I am so confused and this is causing me major issues with working from home whcih I need to do reguarly. Can anyone please help - I hope I am posting in the right area as I am a newbie. Thanks in advance.0

If you can, I'd try your friend's router (that you know works with VPN) with your Tiscali broadband. If it works, then you know it's your router. I used to be woth Tiscali and successfully used VPN, although that was a few years back now (and was with my own router).Knightoftheroad wrote: »Hi all, Just before xmas I moved from Sky to Tiscali. If it turns out to be an issue with your router, you can forward ports within Game & Application Sharing, but I've never really got to grips with that myself. The Thomson 585v7 is also the O2 Wireless box II which may help you search some other forums too.0

Well Talk Talk seem to think they are doing me a favour by aligning my tariff with theirs and GUESS WHAT? (keep guessing!!) My price goes up to £22.48 next month (from £19.99 Tiscali deal)
Thankfully they have buried the 40GB Download limit in the small print on the back. (very nice of em!!)
I could tie myself in for 18 months and get £22.48 credit of the £44 extra I would be paying over this term.
In March I may migrate to o2 all in if favourable terms.
TT know they have their customers over a barrel as not many all in £20 deals0

Decided to go back to BT early March and Sign up for o2 BB then. Only pennies more and no cap on the BB.
Also I don't like the way TT behave, they are quiet on these forums when they want to be and also 2 emails to CEO unanswered. I don't trust them at all!!!! Too much uncertainty, what happens when they squash all the Tiscali custs onto the TT network later on!!!!???!!!
I am so annoyed I have so many posts on MSE¬¬0
