RIP Tiscali

From the Talk Talk website.....................................

Today we welcome all Tiscali customers to TalkTalk and open the doors to a new portal. We are in the privileged position of being the gateway to the internet for millions of people and we now have the tools – the best network and best value products – to do this exceptionally well.
From today the Tiscali brand is no more and we’re committed to giving all of our customers absolute clarity about who we are, the services we provide and the prices we charge.
We want to make it very clear that being part of TalkTalk is much more than just having a different logo on the top of your bill. For that reason we’ve reviewed all of the pricing tariffs and can say from today that if you’re with TalkTalk you’re getting the same value as your fellow customers.
For many of our customers this will mean a reduction in their monthly bills, others will see no change with the remainder getting a small increase. Any customer visiting our website can clearly see our tariffs.
We’ve gained a lot from the Tiscali acquisition, most notably TV and Portal expertise and some great people, but from today the brand name will disappear and our focus is on TalkTalk.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

That's strange, because this morning I received my Pipex phone bill by email, and across the bottom it proudly proclaims: 'Pipex UK Ltd, a Tiscali UK Ltd company'...
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

Pipex UK was bought by Tiscali UK which in turn was bought by TalkTalk.

Are they telling each customer what their future charges will be?? I have (or had!) Tiscali Unlimited BB, Anytime Calls, Free LR, Calls to top 10 countries and Caller Display Service for £20.49 (17.5% VAT)

Does that mean I go down to 40GB BB? Lose top ten countries, pay more for A/T calls, CD charge +/-? Am I locked in for another min term. Do I have to assume this stuff or the decency to tell me / legally??

They can't lock you into anything, but may have to change to their equivalent packages by reading that.

I don't know if they will add them as a rule as Tiscali is different.

If I ditch the Int./ A/T calls / don't go over 40GB / Scrap the Caller ID / Only ring local in the day-time I will save £2.01

plus side 0845/0870 eve n weekend FREE

What about if you don't want/need your landline to be messed up by them, and want to stick with BT?

Mmmm, £11.49 line rentals a bit steep, otherwise ok.
