Mmmm, £11.49 line rentals a bit steep, otherwise ok.

It's the same as BT charge.

Tiscali has many slices of the pie. I remember many years ago Localtel based in Surry was bought out be worldonline (Locatel offered free internet for customers one of the very few only 56k). They were okay until Tiscali ruined it and started having rubbish customer service

I dare say Pipex were good at one stage

If you are still in contract, you have to pay an early termination fee.

Tiscali had a clause if you terminate without moving your BB (moving your MAC) they will charge you a fee for BT exchange work

    Cessation Charge

12.14 If you end your contract for Broadband Services with us and do not request and use a MAC, you agree to pay us a cessation fee of £40. This fee is to cover the cancellation charge that we must pay BT and associated administration costs. The cessation charge will not be payable where you are moving home and either you have subscribed to our Broadband Services at your new address or we are unable to provide the Broadband Services at your new address..

I phoned TT (foreign call centre, 0203 number via say no) and was assured that I will remain on the same Tiscali Tariff even though TT portal etc. I was going to get it in writing (online contact) but it asks for so much detail, lose will to live!!!

'We want to make it very clear that being part of TalkTalk is much more than just having a different logo on the top of your bill. For that reason we’ve reviewed all of the pricing tariffs and can say from today that if you’re with TalkTalk you’re getting the same value as your fellow customers.
For many of our customers this will mean a reduction in their monthly bills, others will see no change with the remainder getting a small increase'

Yeah, my broadband was only going up by the 'small increase' of 33% and with a new download limit introduced.

    Bye bye TalkTalk

After 2 years of problem free broadband and phone line with Tiscali, I got my letter from TalkTalk today.

"We're preparing to move...onto the TalkTalk Next Generation network...".

"In preparation for this move to our network, we're aligning all our customers' packages..."

All this corporate rubbish basically means my monthly bill increasing to £18.48.
On the same day I get a MoneySaving email :money: with news of Virgin's £18 a month TV, phone and broadband (through cashback website). It's basically free Virgin TV, so surely I may as well do it?

Are there any known problems or hidden expenses with this deal or Virgin? What other deals are worth considering for light phone use and downloading?
    Cheers!
