This is not the thread to discuss this, thankfully, as I would not know where to start with your imbecilic posts.

    Back to computers.....!!

Anyway, we have had the Samsung R519 on this grant for some weeks now.
I think its great! 1Gb Ram does not appear to hinder it in anyway (will get another gb in a few weeks anyway), but the only thing I feel that lets it down are the speakers. They are naff. Terribly so. It's a nightmare when the kids are trying to chat with Granddad in Spain on MSN so I will have to see if I can get some cheap USB ones for this purpose only.

I have also been invited to London for an interview for research purposes about the scheme. I am tempted, will give me a day out and they are paying me £50 for going.

So I assume that if you were working in France, Germany or any other EU Member State, you wouldn't claim the Child Benefit to which you would be entitled, on account of your having children back in the UK, purely on principle, yes?

TOTALLY agree it not the thread but if you read all the thread all 42 pages you would see that i said EVERY child counts , and some users were annoyed they didnt qualify , i pointed out that the system isnt fair ...YOU asked me a question and i answered everyone has there own opinion
    back to computers we go

My sister has just reeived her laptop grant card so went along to one of the suggested retailers to get it (not sure if I can say who). Just to make people aware that she was not able to have a choice. They priced the laptop package at the exact amount allowed, which I understand that any money left over should go back in the pot to help others. They also tried to sell her a 3 year insurance package for £149. My sister is a student and single mum so money is already tight in the first place, hence the need for applying for the grant. On the plus side she is obviously very grateful that her son now has the opportunity to have access to a computer and pleased with what she has received.
The grant allows you to select one of about half a dozen machines on offer across all of the suppliers.

I don't think any offer Sky, but one or two people already have Sky Broadband (nothing to do with the deal).
