Is that the best software-wise? I know they need microsoft word as they have never had a computer so don't have it already. My sister wants me to do it for her as she has no way of looking at all the sites (no computer at all) but it's all too much!
Not sure on that side of it, sorry.

The one from P.IT doesn't come with MS Word, but does have Office which is very similar. However as mine use MS Word at school I thought it best they use the same one so bought a copy from software4students at a very discounted rate.
  • I have just called the telephone number to see if I am eligable for a grant and although I (or my sons) qualify in all areas (except our location) we are not eligable as we live in Wales. Is there a similar scheme that runs for those of us who don't happen to live in England?

    I hope someone can help.

    Many thanks

Is there a time limit as my friend had problems with her child benefit letter and so only just applied.

No, apparently there is enough "in the pot" for all eligible children.

Hiya, my sister has got the grant but can't work out which is the best laptop to go for, I have tried to help but I am not very good at this techie stuff either! Which seems to be the best one that includes broardband? I see a lot of people mentioning the PositiveIT Samsung. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm just looking into this now for my kids. The one from Positive IT doesn't come with Microsoft Office 2007, but does come with Open Office. Open Office is a FREE prog that anyone could download from the net, so they're not really giving you anything.

I'll post again in a little while when I've decided what to go for.

Great customer service and it arrived within 3 days. Not had any trouble with it at all. ( touch wood). Hope this helps someone :)
