Hi Guys!
It's freezing here today. Been snowing off and on all day. I have been so cold although I have layered up. My bloods arent very good atm, so assume thats not helping. Its supposed to be getting colder tonight/tomorrow. OH has bought in the oil rad from the outside office as the lounge is terrible at keeping the warmth in even though temp is supposed to be set at 22c. This quarter is going to cost a fortune.
Nurse got here late this morning, but TBH, I wasnt expecting her at all because of the roads. She gave me a check over and has offered to get me a mattress for the sofa as I cant get comfy and have some bed sores starting. Does anyone know anything about the air matress...Im sure thats what she said...other than that, they can offer a bed for the lounge, but I really dont like the idea of that....I would have to be "ill" to have that:D
DD's school was shut (although she had to go in for 15mins for an annual interview:rolleyes:) and I think tomorrow I will let her have the day off even if the school is open as I know they will ask them all to go in, then text through to say...please collect your child and will be difficult to get over there.
OH has cleaned out a few cupboards including the tin one and cant believe what was in there. Will try and work some in each week, even if just topping up the veg, or having peaches for desert etc. DD waxed a door for us too and it looks great. Hoping she will do another tomorrow;)
For dinner tonight we had savoury pasta, which was basically an onion fried off with some minced lamb that needed using, beans, A1 sauce, garlic and tom sauce cooked through, then cooked pasta added with grated cheddar on top. Its filling and cost minimal....yummy!
OH went to the shops for a few essentials....must add them to my GC amount, so if we get snowed in, we have food for a few days. Quite fancy saute potatoes, egg and beans tomorrow!!
Quick question....we usually have a roast dinner sunday but its difficult ATM as OH back and forth to his dad's and I cant lift anything or move around easily, but wondered if there is any easy quick (20mins?) way to cook roast spuds that still keep them crispy???
Anyway, I am rambling. Hugs to all.

Penny-Pincher: on the BBC weather page it's telling me it's going to get down to -6 in my postcode tonight! We're also having trouble as we're due to go to Paris tomorrow for boyfriend's family Christmas but Eurostar are advising not to travel and have got a restricted service on, the train we were supposed to get has been cancelled and they've made it an hour earlier. I had arranged to leave work early so I could get to St Pancras but I can guarantee boss will not be happy as I had a massive 'telling-off' earlier by phone for not coming in today, apparently people with mobility problems made it, yes, because they drive and the roads are gritted, around here the pavements or roads haven't been gritted and are like an ice-rink...
Edit: also this is amazing!**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

Wow just got back from Morrisons - now I see why I haven't driven all week the roads are treacherous:eek: even Hubbie in 4x4 was really struggling. Carpark at Morries was dreadful. It is still really deep in places and more forecast for weekend. Can't see it clearing for weeks!
Anyway we are well stocked up again - even got some long life milk to keep us in front. But forgot binliners so have to get some from local shop (he charges a fortune for them though!) Ah well can't be helped not risking going to supermarket again
Have a good evening all.

It's more snow than ice here J and the hens are less than impressed but still want to brave the minus 12 temperatures to roost up the tree. I got them in early tonight and gave them lots of snuggly bedding so hopefully they'll be ok. Hope you feel better soon.. xxxx
Thanks everyone for the condolences for us missing our trip but it turns out that our flight was cancelled anyway so I'm glad we didn't make the 3 hour trek to the airport to be told that.
All is warm and snuggly here despite the outside temp. The icicles hanging from our roof and windows are really quite impressive!!
The girls went to bed with extra blankies and a hottie each and tummies full of ovaltine.
OH and I are curled up in front of the fire but will retire soon to our extra blanketed bed.
I've made tomato soup for everyone's lunches tommorrow and prepped the porridge for the morning and another load of washing has gone on the pulley which should dry overnight if I stick a few more logs on the fire at bed time.
Sleep well and warm everyone. xxx0 -
Blue skies, sunshine & hot day here today. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
Sorry, please forgive me.That was lucky you didn't venture out Haribo.
Going to clean the house out this morning. Floors, bathroom etc. Every time DGS stays the loo stinks of wee. Think he must spray it all over the tiles. Unless it's DH.
Sleep well. ByeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0
