    Good Morning everyone,

I haven't had a chance to catch up with yesterday's news yet, so hugs to everyone in need.

I'm feeling pretty sore and sorry for myself at the moment. Two days ago I had really bad pains in my side and couldn't sleep, even with lots of painkillers. I soldiered on, as you do, thinking it was some midcycle pain, and it would pass. It returned with a vengeance yesterday afternoon, and I don't know how I got through the day, I was feeling dreadful. finally went to the out of hours place where the Dr diagnosed a UTI. SO 3 days of antibiotics and I should be right as rain, but poor me, I feel so sorry for myself today. The boys are coming home for lunch and I've got housework up to my armpits, and all I want to do is crawl into bed.

Right, that's enough whingeing from me. Will go and put some soup on in a mo' then curl up on the TV with a cuppa and the Hairy Bikers which I SKY+ed on Tuesday. I love them, they are so funny. Is anyone else going to see them on tour this year? Me and the OH are thinking about it, we really enjoy watching their shows.

Off to work this evening again, no rest for the wicked, but the overtime will be worth it next month, hope you all have a good day and everyone's loved ones stay safe travelling in the snow.

Still thinking of Sunnygirl and family, and Tristan, and JackieO's friend June

ETA Just read your post Celyn, extra hugs for you too. Sometimes you just need to have a "sighing" day. Take care.

JackieO - thanks so much for all the info on money saving tips. I really enjoyed reading it and have already done some serious menu planning:T

Diva - glad you are back with us. Sorry you had such a cold day yesterday, although I laughed at the idea of your car peering into the cold fire!

RedRuby - good luck for your move on Mon - we left our house during a real blizzard when we moved before Christmas.

(((hugs))) to all those feeling unwell, sad or anxious. Thinking of peeps who are worried about friends and family affected by the weather.

    Morning All!
More snow last night, it's even on the beach! A neighbour got my paper, so I'm not going anywhere. Running out of bread, but I've got part-baked rolls in, so they'll do for the moment.
Spent yesterday stripping wallpaper from the dining room, think I'll do some more today.
Soup for lunch, coq au vin for dinner, all frozen from last year:rotfl:

    Morning :hello:

Master tru was off work yesterday, at 8am he grabbed the sledge and went off up the hill for the day with a couple of his mates :D All the trus are at work today, though mr and miss were 2 hours late leaving. The slush had been pushed off the road by traffic yesterday, and it found it's way on to our sloping drive where it froze overnight, cementing the car firmly in place :D

I've just rescued some mushrooms from the back of the fridge, they're now chopped and in the freezer. Had a yummy roast yesterday, there's plenty of chicken left for for curries etc. and the bones are simmering on the hob as I type. The washing machine is fixed so that's on, doing a catch-up (why is there soooo much washing after just 2 days?).

I need a volunteer to clean out the chickens, please. My wellies have disappeared and I really don't want to go outside :D

We drove near Glos park yesterday, there were loads of snowmen and lots of people making more. Wish I'd had my camera on me, it looked fab.

  • Quick update to say I've made the soup, and am off to change the boys' beds, courtesy of some large painkillers! I've also negotiated starting a bit later today so I can rest later, rather than going off sick for the evening. I couldn't have done 9 hours. Love to all. x

Cor, it aint half cold out brrr...

Dd has two friends round and they're busy making yet another snowman. I've supplied them with hot chocolate and flapjacks.

Breakfast this morning was a supremely unhealthy one of cinnamon toast which is basically carbs and sugar lol. The toast was wholemeal though and I thought a shot of sugar might be welcome especially to the boys who were miserable because of having to go to school. I had toast and marmalade later plus the last wrinkled russet apples that no-one was going to eat.

Lunchboxes have salami rolls, apple/banana and flapjacks/Christmas cake. Dd will have a cheese toastie or salami sandwich and I will have leftover baked potato stuffed with sweetcorn, cheese and onion.

Supper will be spicy rice and red beans (lots of veggies in there). I think I'll do a warming pudding possibly something suety -mincemeat roly poly perhaps. With custard to should cheer ds2 up (he had big plans for today involving his buddies coming round here).

Diva - nice to see you posting again, you posts always make me smile and you were missed yesterday

My mam is a teacher in a primary school, their head made the decision to shut the school all week yesterday so atleast the parents know for sure. It sits on a really steap bank and for health and safety reasons she decided to shut.

Wasnt to bad getting to work today, main roads are ok, side streets are terrible, the snow was coming into my wellies :rotfl:Got some ear muffs from sports direct for 1 pound, never had them off for two weeks!!

Were off sledging on Saturday if the snow stays yippeeee, havent sledged since I was a kid.

Hope everyone stays warm and safe today xx

    Morning All

Sending hugs and warm vibes to all who need them!

Well Im off sick at the minute, got a chest infection and quite possibly the worst cold I have ever had. Not really feeling too hot! Thankfully our snow isnt too bad here, seems to have turned into some sort of lethal sheet of ice mind you. Havent ventured out of the house since monday but DH says its really freezing cold!

Really feel like I should be doing a lot in the house at the minute but I simply dont have the energy. Dinner last night came courtesy of my darling nannie who sent us a huge pot of stew! Tonight Im thinking maybe chicken and pasta bake..........actually Im thinking of something that is easy! Lol!!

Today I am going to try to sort out our disaster of a spare bedroom. It has become a complete dumping ground, to the extent that you can barely get the door open :o Not too sure how I will get on mind you cause I really do feel pretty awful but Im thinking that maybe if I do an hour of tidying/sorting and then have a rest for a bit and then go back to it I might get further.

    Linz xox
Its hard to wait around for that something you know may never happen, but its harder to give up when you know its everything you ever wanted.........

People tell me Im going the wrong way..............when its simply a way of my own!

Morning everybodycold.gifMy little weather thingy says its still -5 now.The menfolk managed to get to work yesterday, but couldn't get near to the house so parked up the road, meant they had to carry their tools in relays, but had a good day apart from that, said there was a good couple more inches there than at our house, its nearer the hills.
They've gone off with soup in flasks that I made yesterday ,it had carrot, leek and celery, lentils and ham stock, ginger & coriander, and a bit of cream, blended.(They prefer all their soups blended- I dont mind a few chunks)Will make some more today as I'm cooking a chicken.

Will put the bm on shortly.I've been to the local shop, they hadnt had any bread delivered, but had milk, which they didnt yesterday.Got some more eggs.

I'm a bit worried that my aunties funeral will be disrupted tomorrow, but am hoping not.I ordered some flowers online yesterday.I know some people will struggle to attend, and DS1 has an interview about 20 miles away - I know she wouldnt want him to miss that! In normal circumstances he would prob get there & back with a little time to spare - we'll just have to see.He can always join us afterwards.

I am making some crochet wristwarmers, but wish I'd used thicker wool, it doesnt grow very quickly and I am impatient :D

Wmf- great news on the flat.clap.gifHope it goes through ok.
Sunny -hugs to you and your family.Difficult situation I know-MIL was in a coma for a week before she died ,and my DDad about 4 days,we kept up the talking till the end and like to think they heard,it helped us too.
    Diva-glad you're back.

Take care and try and keep warm.x
