HugsxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Good morning early birds  Hope that you get some rest later at least Heavenleigh & Mioliere or you'll be needing matchsticks for your eyes :rotfl:

Well it's freezing again here so I've made a pan of porridge for breakfast to warm everyone up before they brave the walk to school/college which are all open today thankfully
I did a mixed veg soup in the slow cooker yesterday so that's in the fridge waiting to be blended up for lunch today. Dinner will be baked potatoes with beans/cheese/tuna so nice & easy.
I went shopping yesterday & kept the cost under £60 for the week so was pleased. We collected Susie's antibiotics from the vets so she's started on them poor thing. I told her last night that people had been sending her doggy hugs & she was very pleased
MIL is having her insulin stopped today & the morphine upped as they can't administer anything very easily now. DH is just about coping but he is very snappy so lots of extra TLC for him.
Have a good day everyone & take care in the snow.0 -
Morning all.
Happy Birthday to nmlc :bdaycake:have a great day xx
Freezing cold here again, at least we have heat and power though, thousands are without it.
OH is on the phone to see if there is any work today (somehow I doubt it ) the bad weather is set in for a while now, blizards on monday when we are due to move, and I am driving a 3.5 ton van :rotfl:
DD's school is shut again, so I have left her in bed for a while, best place where its nice and warm.
I am off to work, as i can walk up the road . Dinner tonight is something with chips, might be veggie burgers, as I have some in the ever decreasing freezer.
No work for OH today, its going to be a low wage this week .
Hugs to Taplady and family and Jayward xx
Flutterby, welcome back xx
Have good days all and stay safe and warm xx0 -
Morning all,
Well Dd school opens at 9.30 today and Ds3 college is open so
only Ds2 and me here today.
Going to put beef and red wine into slowcooker today so we can
have a stew and have triffle for afters.
Still got tidying up and washing to do as usual and perhaps get
some baking done too if my Fm will allow it.
Hope you all have a lovely day x0 -
Good Morning everybody! No more snow for us thankfully, but what we have had is all compacted and very slippery now, and I seem to have an inane fear of falling so anything that could precipiate that (ie snow!) is very scary to me! Puppy-dog is being a total nightmare at the moment – he refused to come back to me in the park last night and I was really starting to panic. Luckily a nice couple managed to catch him and return him to me, but I’m not keen on letting him off lead again now. Tonight we’ll have to wait for OH to come home from work, which is a nuisance because it’ll be dark by then, but Puppy-dog responds much better to him! He’s due for neutering next Thursday (Puppy-dog, not OH:D), so hopefully that will stop him wondering off looking for other doggies quite so much. Fingers crossed!
OS wise today… not a huge amount. Need to update my spending spreadsheet with the receipt OH gave me yesterday (there are donuts on it. I don’t recall approving donuts…). Lunch is leftover Leek & Tomato soup for me and sandwiches for the boy. Must look into getting him a foodflask or something. He’s working on building sites all day and I’m sure he’d be better with a hot meal at lunchtime. Dinner will be Pasta Bake (cheap, chearful and filling!). Really must get the Christmas Decorations back in the loft – they’re down and packed in their boxes so shouldn’t take long.
Heavenleigh – rabbits are a bit mad at times. I put one of my Lionheads onto a piece of board laid on the snow to see what he’d do. He sniffed it, then took a flying leap off the board and *plopped* into the snow. And he just sat there. In the snow. So I picked him up and put him back on the board and he promptly hurled himself back into the snow. Very strange. I also used to have a Dwarf Lop with an addiction to All-Bran, but that’s another story…
Hope the snow doesn’t cause anybody too many problems. Happy thoughts all ‘round,

Morning all
Frozen snow this morning but nothing like what you have on the mainland - we've been very lucky. My Mum and Dad live in the north east and they have had it bad and my Dad isn't one to be snowed in so I hope he's ok and Mum walks to work so she'll be ok.
I'm not sure whats wrong with me...I feel very tires and sluggish. I slept for ten hours the night before last and I was still shattered. Must just be with going back to work after having such a long break or the after effects of the bad cold I had maybe. I'm not going to have much opportunity to rest until I go to my mums at the beginning of February - then I can chill out and be looked after for a couple of days. Just hope the weather has sorted its self out by then!
OS? not a lot to be honest. I did pick up some packs of reduced maple ham last night - really tasty so I'll freeze one pack and the other is nearly all done. I think i'll make lentil soup for the kids for dinner - me and DH are eating out tonight.
Hope everyone stays safe and warm

 Lost my reply due to stupid 'puter grrrr
Have to take my mum to hospital for routine mammogram - parking is a mare at the hospital. Might pop into John Lewis and Lakeland whilst we are there and have a nose
Had a nice cuddle with DD before we ventured downstairs. I'd just got DS back off to sleep when she woke so sat in the rocking chair in the dark whilst she played with my hair!!! If I wasn't someone who can't function properly with less sleep I'd definately be up early for the peace and quiet before the rabble start!!!
Nursery is open for DS - am sure he'll be pleased about that NOT!
Not sure about tea. H made himself some HM cod cakes and used my new food processor to make the breadcrumbs. See living with me and my MSE ways is starting to rub off on him. Only problem is its something else for the freezer :rotfl:
nmlc - Happy Birthday  I tried using the smilies from the other site and I don't think my lappy could cope with all the stuff on the page so sorry but it's plain old MSE smilies from me
Diva - glad to see you posting today
flutterby - Sounds like you had a great holiday and to come back with money - even better!!!!
Cranky - glad house elf is on the mend x
Gemma - have you got one of those extendable leads? They are quite good as allow dog to roam a bit further but they are still tethered to you.
Hester - :rotfl: at the "man measurement"
Gosh it's taken me about 45 mins to get this written, perhaps I should just forgo sleep entirely so at least I will get some peace!!!
Hugs to those that need them. Have a good day OS or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

Good Morning All
:j:beer:Have a great Birthday NMLC:beer::j
No further snow here but very icy. DD's school is the only local one open but they have advised that children in villages don't have to go in. So I have decided that she is staying at home today.
I would like to go to the library so I will see how the roads are in a couple of hours, also needed a couple of food bits. Nothing essential so if they are still bad I won't bother.
Hm meat pie was lovely last night, just the thing for a cold day. Tonight its very easy jacket potatoes with cheese n beans or tuna.
Work will be a nightmare today, the night blokes went out but only managed 50% of deliveries, day blokes have been given normal days plus the missed deliveries - no chance so I think the phone will be busy today.
I have got some office work, also some ironing. House needs a lick over but really not worth it at the moment with both children home.
Fancy making some butterfly cakes after I saw the ones on the Hairy Bikers programme - havnt had them for ages.
Anyway, need another cuppa, have a good day all.

Morning Chums ,well my lovely DD managed to get home from Chatham and it took her four hours to go three miles.Luckily she is off today thank goodness.I shall be staying at home today as I'm snowed in and my car looks like an igloo, but I'm not too bothered as its far too cold and slippery outside. No point in clogging up hospital beds unecessarily with broken bones is there.I might do a bit of baking this morning as my cake tins are looking a bit bare after Christmas and need replenishing.I have a big pot of veggie soup virtually on the go all the time at the moment as it really is a nice winter warmer and save on using up the milk with countless cuppa's. Hope everyone is all o.k. and has enough to see them through this cold spell.
have a good day everyone and Happy Birthday to nmlc
Cheers,JackieO xx0
