I also have to admit if I found my OH talking on msn/emailing to another woman on a daily basis at work I wouldn't be too impressed either - if this really is the case then its no wonder the bride-to-be has trust issues..
I go through periods of speaking to male friends every day by email. And female friends. I could never write off a friendship just because of their gender. I'd be surprised and upset if my husband restricted my friendships to females only. Likewise, he has female friends, some of whom he speaks to often.

Every relationship is different in that respect and, as bylromarha says, our boundaries are different too. Speaking daily to someone wouldn't give me any worries at all.

I agree. Take it from a bloke, men only have female friends they want to sh*g.

I'm sorry as I know some people will find this unpalatable but my friendship with my ex will continue regardless of my relationship with his wife. I have known him since I was a child, I cannot imagine us not being friends and maintaining contact.

    .

You reckon? Isn't this up to he and his wife to negotiate between them? I rather think, you won't get a say. Having a 'friendship' with somebody your spouse can't stand is making life extremely difficult for yourself. I would suggest that in a year or two, your relationship with him will be much less close - it's his wife who holds the cards now, and if he realises she is deeply upset by his contact with you, then he will, quite simply, curtail that contact.
  • If OP thinks it was sssoooooo ok to do the emails with ex, why is she embarassed at telling her family why they are no longer invited.

The bride has a right to be very angry, but also with ex.

Certainly OP should not go to the wedding. It would really spoil the bride's day. If the groom cannot understand this, then the bride maybe needs to have a re-think about him.

    Way out of order

I will ask my ex if his fiancee is planning to tell his mum that I am banned (I doubt it). If not, then I suppose I will have to tell her that I am not coming but I cannot think of a single plausible reason I can possibly come up with, assuming the fiancee does not tell her the reason behind it.

Why can't you tell her the real reason the fiancee doesn't want you there? I doubt his mother will be quite so set on keeping you close when she realises how utterly in the wrong you are over this one.

Probably "I Will Always Love You" by Whitney Houston. No doubt sang whilst gazing into the grooms eyes. Bride gets upset and storms out, then Eastie is left stood there. She looks at everyone and says "What?".
