  • Be careful where you buy them. My mum had a fake one and it burned a chunk of my hair off :( It's just not worth it.
  • A common problem with GHDs is just the plug. Had mine for a few years, bought them second hand from a family friend for £40 so no idea how old they are!

They wouldn't turn on recently and my dad just changed the plug for a cheap basic one from a DIY shop. They've worked as good as new since! :D

So if you're looking to buy new ones because yours won't switch on... find someone who can change plugs first. ;)
Making mistakes is not the end of the world, though it often feels that way!
  • Mine broke a while ago, and you can send them back to GHD to get them repaired and if they can't repair them, they'll send you a new pair.
That's what they did for me, and it didn't take that long, I think it was about 1 and a half to two weeks. And all you need to pay for is postage.
  • Christmas is approaching and I'm looking to get some GHDs for my better half, but hopefully at a decent price. I've stumbled across the Discount GHD Outlet. It seems cheap, but does anyone have any experience with it? Don't want to order from the site to find out it's a fake.

Sorry to harp on, but is there nobody that has encountered discountghdoutlet dot com? (I'm a newbie so no links I'm afraid).

I found the Classic Style Black Deluxe Midnight Collection set for £85.99 and am unsure if this is too cheap or not!

    Any help would be appreciated.

My daughter has asked me to take some GHD's to her in Australia when i visit next month- does anyone have any idea whether or not I will be able to get them duty free at Heathrow? Otherwise am I right in thinking the safest/cheapest place is Amazon? I've been looking at the gold or pink limited edition ones.

I've found the GHD Pink Edition for £110 on www.Bodycare2000.com including a free GHD spray and delivery. Does anyone know anything about this site? They are showing as an authorised GHD dealer but I can't find any reviews of them.
    Many thanks
  • Can anyone recommend the best model of GHD hair straighteners for the DW for a surprise Christmas present?

She's always wanted some, and so I thought I'd surprise her - but at these prices I don't want to buy the wrong ones.
