My lead on mine had broke so i ordered another lead from ebay for about 5 pounds delivered and its so easy to replace lead.

Posting my experience with GHD. My wife's prize possession have broke. After reading this thread I had hopes of a repair service to get them back up and running. She had looked after them religiously, and they were used infrequently and had last a good 3 or 4 years but the fact that they failed has irked me somewhat as electrical goods should not just fail for no reason. Anyway I sent an email to them:

Good Morning, My wife's GHD's have all of a sudden failed on her. Right before they failed, it would start up and just keep beeping but not heat up, now they don't even do that. To be frank she is devastated. I have tried to fill in the returns form but it fails on the Hologram/Date code. Model No. ghd 4.2P Hologram. *** Date Code ***

And they've replied with trying to sell us a new pair.

Now I know 4 years is out of the warranty but I've got electrical goods that get used a lot more frequently and are nearly 10 years old yet still work fine. Factor in that these often brake tells me its not a user causing the fault. Not happy with them at all

Don't know if this is of use but had an email from the hut group to say there was an offer for 24 hours I think for ghdsfor £89 or £79 in gold and silver.its via Look fantastic so think they are ok.
