What is the best Mastercard prepaid card to use for Ryanair transactions only??

Do you need to add 1.04% on, to cover the transaction charge?
I've just tried to pay for a £63.99 Ryanair flight with a FairFX card loaded with £63.99 and it's been rejected. Should I have loaded £64.89?
Thanks,
Jack
Are you serious? You know that the have a fee of 1.4%, so how else will they collect it? Oops! I have to be nice to you. Erm.... yes, you should add an extra 1.4% to the amount.0 -
yes it would be sterling
im getting it from thomas cook in Uk and will be loading it up with pounds to pay for the flights in pounds....
will it work?
or is this card just for withdrawing and spending while on holiday abroad?
thanks for teh reply..
If the Thomas Cook Cash Passport Sterling is free I see no impediment in using it for your Ryanair flight payment. But of course the 'commission'* will appear once you actually have to put a credit on the card.
*Load/Reload Commission: 2%
2% is still probably a lot less than Ryanair will try to charge you.
Buying inbound flights will cost you a further 5.75%, so be careful.0 -

thanks once again
when you say buying inbound flight do you mean if i was purchasing flights seperatly, instead of doing a round trip?
my sister works for travelex and she said she could get this card:
http://www.travelex.co.uk/uk/cash-passport-globe.aspx
sent out 2mrw, but is it any better then the thomas cook one?
cheers for the help...0 -

I don`t know if you`re taking the p*ss with this question or not, but I`ll say this:
You don`t have to load these cards with the rock bottom minimum because they can be used practically anywhere in the UK (supermarkets etc.) and not just for Ryanair.

The TC would work if it`s a prepaid mastercard but as pointed out the loading and transaction fees are 2%.
Also don`t assume it would actually take as long as 7/10 days for the FairFX to arrive.
And don`t assume the RA fare will have gone up by then.
A lot depends when are where you want to fly to.0 -

Hi
I frequently fly with ryan air, once a month, as I fly home from university.
I was wondering which prepaid mastercard would be the best to use? And what does it mean when it says reload, is this for putting more money on to the card to use?
Thanks for your help!!!!0 -

For the FairFX card, you need to factor in 3.4%/3.5% more than the cost of your flights/purchase as they make a pending charge to allow for any conversions, later once the money goes through the 2% is credited back to the card...
Also beware when booking ryanair flights using FairFX if your purchase is declined (as happened to me yesterday) then I had to reload another £50 minimum load.... even only for a few pence... when I tried to submit the payment again (by clicking on the TRY AGAIN button, it seemed to go through ok, I got my reservation number BUT it said NOT CONFIRMED (until you receive email itinerary) which never came!! also my card had not been charged.... I waited and waited, eventually I had
to phone ryanair customer service at 10p per minute, wait on hold for
ages only to speak to an argumentative customer service operator who
told me that my card was declined the 2nd time, I said no... it had gone
through and I was issued the flight reservation number, she said 'well
there's no booking on the system, something went wrong, you need to
restart from the beginning' (so clearly there are coding issues with the TRY AGAIN button!!) then she HUNG UP!!! I was furious as I thought
maybe I'd get double charged if I booked again... Anyway I closed ryanair website down in internet explorer, opened it again in mozilla and started the process again.. thankfully flight prices had not gone up in
price and the transaction went through fine...itinerary emailed almost
immediately and card charged. In the past I have ended up making
double bookings because of the ryanair's famous error 'SESSION IS
LOCKED' but that's another story!0
