  • A friend lent me his Titanium CashPlus MasterCard.

1.Anyone know if Ryan Air accept this for free?
    2.Can I load this online?
2.1.Is it free to do from a Barclays online account?

    Thanks in advance!
  • Cheers.

I was hoping someone might know off hand from experience is all.
  • The Titanium card is owned by Cashplus. I have a Cashplus prepaid mastercard and I booked a trip to Poland last week on Ryanair with it and it worked fine. As for loading online, I top it up all the time using my HSBC account and it's free to top up.

Cashplus card is not competitive against the other cards. It charges issuing fee of 9.95 pounds and there is monthly account maintainance fee of 4.95 pounds. Its forex charges are 2.99%, more than others.

I would not go for this card. Look into Neteller or even FairFx (also has issuance fee) instead.

For me the Ice Card is still the best option. 2% to load, free to obtain and use, no monthly charges and it works just fine on Ryanair. Application process is simple, card arrived within ten days. Loaded it with £200 for a cost of £4. £200 will buy me plenty of cheap Ryanair flights.

I thought this was the best one at first but if you apply for FairFX through TCB they`ll give you £7-50.
In other words, they`re giving you £7-50 just to apply for it!
Free to load,so if you load £200 and transactions cost 1.5%,on £200 this only amounts to £3.
Take the £3 from the £7-50 cashback and you`re still ahead by £4-50.
Load the card for free at least twice in 3 years and you get a renewal card free.

    It`s a no-brainer.

    Hi all

i went in to Phones4u shop today and got escape card - loaded it up - came home and it is NOT being accepted by Ryan air as prepaid mastercard - I cannot contact them as it is the weekend - the four numbers at the start are 5195 - I also saw today that you can buy £25 prepaid gift cards at Clintons Cards - but dont know if they will work either.

From what I can tell if I upgrade my Escape card (currently I can only load £650!)

Other than that it would appear to be quite a good card - costs £9.95 - no fee for using (to pay for things) - you can lodge cash onto it for free in the phone4u shops and it is 3% anywhere that does paypoint.

Will try again later just in case my card isnt valid yet for some reason.

    Hi All,

I went into Phones 4U and purchased one as well, they were really helpful! I could just get the card on it's own for £9.99 (with a mandatory £10 top up) or I could get an extra one so when I go on holiday, Both me and my OH can take one and load money before we go onto one and transfer some, makes it alot easier when going out and about, and it doesn't charge you for using it overseas! Love it, I would definately recommend going into the store to get one as they were just soo helpful and seemed to know all about the whole RyanAir booking charges too!!

Fortunately for me I decided to try to get the Neteller card before I loaded any money into the account, so I now just have a redundant Neteller account.

My Escape card arrived yesterday so hopefully I'm good to go... BTW, it takes about 1 working day to transfer funds into the Escape account using Faster Payments. I assume the other loading methods (which aren't free) are faster.

When I loaded mine in the Phones 4U store using cash, (which is free) I went nextdoor to Starbucks to try it out and it worked fine! Apparentely the person in the shop says it only takes about 60 seconds when loading it in store.

Both neteller and fairfx (with cashback) beats this
