FairFX do a Euro card and there's no 1.5% fee on it either (that's only on the GBP anywhere card as far as I know)...but you have to have a UK address and if paying by card have to use the address the card is registered to.

Oh, OK. So being from Continental Europe I cannot get the FairFX. I am happy with Neteller so far. Haven't paid to them anything for their service yet, so really good.

I need to book some Ryanair flights and wish to get a prepaid mastercard for this purpose. One of the flights is Brussels to Rome so the ryanair website is giving me the price in euros. I am in the UK so do I need a Euro AND sterling prepaid card, or just a sterling one?

This is all very annoying, didn't realise that Ryanair put an additional fee on to the price if not using one of these cards!

Get a Travelex cashpassport Globe card. It is loaded in GB£s and stays in £s until point of sale and then converts to Mastercard rate minus 1.49% for whatever currency you use. ie todays rate is 1.1149 Euro per GB£
There is however a 99p charge for GB£s transactions. But overall its the best all rounder, especially abroad.

Oh, be very carefull booking Euro flights. Ryanair try to force Euro transactions thru in £s via Dynamic currency convertion at a very poor rate. You have to decline this.

I find the Neteller card has been very good. There is no fee to get it, no fee to load it with a debit card, it can be loaded instantly online so after you have loaded it you can see the revised balance in a second browser window whilst you are in the process of a booking Ryanair in another window, plus there is no particularly adverse rate for FOREX if you use a GBP Neteller card to buy a Euro leg like Brussels - Rome (just standard Mastercard rate and commission which I am guessing at 2.75%).

I have bought Euro flights with mine very often - you do have to be very shrewd/cute to make sure that AFTER you have entered your prepaid Mastercard details but before you click Purchase now that you click on the More Information link and remove the tick in the box in a little popup window which means you are refusing Ryanair's extortionate GBP:EUR Dynamic Currenct Conversion.

You will then have great satisfaction in refreshing your Neteller account balance Window immediately after making your shrewdly modified Ryanair booking and seeing that you have saved at least 3% and sometimes as much as 6% on the quoted Ryanair GBP conversion :money:

Edit: But budgetflyer's card looks pretty good for the Euros legs at least, meaning perhaps that a 4.25% up to possibly 7.25% saving on Ryanair's quoted GBP conversion price is possible?

This is the card you need and it`s free.
    The pound sterling anywhere card.
On the next page change the amount to what you require but the minimum is £50.

Do you need to add 1.04% on, to cover the transaction charge?

I've just tried to pay for a £63.99 Ryanair flight with a FairFX card loaded with £63.99 and it's been rejected. Should I have loaded £64.89?

    Thanks,

    Jack
