For the FairFx card what puts me off is the 1.5% transaction fee for pound denomination (http://www.fairfx.com/whatitcosts)
In addition, Normal card fee £9.95 for initial loads under £500. I usually use the card to book tickets only; therefore, transferring more than £500 doesn't make sense given that the money is not insured against loss.
Finally, the customer service line costing 80p per minute is a bit making profit on your customer's problems thing.
Please correct me if I am wrong.
The card is free at the moment and if you do it through TCB you get £7-50p.
So they`re paying you to get it.
It`s free to load with a debit card, minimum £10.
True there is a 1.5% transaction fee but you can use this card in most places here if you don`t use RA that often.
You don`t need to phone on the 80p line, the email service is very good and any queries from them, they phone you.
The card lasts 3 years and FREE There is no card renewal fee after expiry subject to a minimum of two currency loads during the lifespan of the card.0 -

I have the FairFX card.
So, I will be charged 1.5% on the flights but no £5 admin fee and then 1.5% if I add anything to the booking like checked in luggage?
Thanks0 -
You will be charged 1.5% on EVERYTHING you spend on it.
Whatever your total spend is on Ryanair,flights,check-in,baggage,etc.
£1-50 for every £100 spent, whether it`s Ryanair or Asda.0 -

I am outside the UK, living in the EURO zone. Do you know if I can get the FairFx card in Europe, load it with EUR and spend it in EUR.
The 1.5% transaction fee on everything is rather expansive, which puts me off. I am still leaning towards Neteller, because there everything is free.0 -

Thanks. I'll only be spending £100 so it won't exactly break the bank. As long as there are no hidden extras for adding checked in luggage to a Ryanair booking if decide I need to do that.
Shame I missed the TCB £7.50 deal0 -

There are no hidden extras,if you add luggage they charge you,if you add anything they charge you.
You see the TOTAL price at the end of your booking.
The idea of a prepaid card is to avoid RA charging you £5 each way for everyone on the booking.
If you spend £50 with Ryanair and pay for it with a prepaid card (fairfx)it`ll only cost you 75p0
