That still doesn't answer what was said prior to that clip starting.
The clip says "Now lets speak to Phil Bentley managing director of British Gas"0 -
From BG site:
As a WebSaver 5 customer you are already on our cheapest available tariff with an overall saving of £154 vs standard if you have dual fuel and an overall saving of £86 if you are on gas only. Your prices will not be changing as a result of this price event.

Why ask anyway if you already heard it, the bit you posted is irrelevant anywayFrom BG site:

The T&C's of WebSaver 5 state that it's guaranteed to be at least 6% cheaper than the standard tariff. So long as the prices remain at least 6% cheaper than the standard tariff BG is under no obligation to reduce the cost of this tariff.0 -
This morning BG said that this price decrease is on all tariffs it is not
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8497460.stm
I checked with BG online

[/Last year there was a decrease for standard tariff only. Missing many tariffs and this time its missed essential tariff again two years and still no decrease(QUOTE]
You have to remember also that Essential Customers did not get the previous 35 % increase so they are still the winners.Self Employed, Running my Dream Jobs0 -

This is true but why didn`t BG make this clear on the BBC instead of trying to grab the headlines by stating ALL customers will be getting a price reduction.
WS5 tariff was already 6% cheaper than standard rate.
From what you`re saying,WS5 must have been 13% cheaper,I don`t think so.0 -
Just looked at the Tier 2 Standard rate for gas in my area is 3.203p where my Web Saver 4 is 3.041p
Well 6% of 3.203 is 0.19218 and = 3.010p I see a breach of contract here!!!0 -
He said all customers, this is not the case, so either he tried to grab the headlines or he is trying to deceive customers
The presenter at no time did he mention standard tariff, listen to interviewWhy is it? If the BBC presenter says prior to that clip starting that it's a price cut for the standard tariff then it makes more sense for him to reply in such a manner if it's already been said that it's for the STANDARD tariff.

I recently signed up to this new service - https://www.moneymaxim.co.uk/free-energy-monitor-service - it promises to check all tariffs and all providers. Should save me a few quid as I'm not looking forward to February's quarterly bill!0

On BBC working lunch today they have now mentioned its standard tariff with 7% off and not as Phil Bentley earlier suggested this morning "all Tariffs"0
