Spent the morning taking covers off the pushchair and scrubbing them. Had to sweep off the worst of the mould, then it washed off pretty well, luckily covers are mainly black. Drying on the line at the moment, then we'll see if I can get them back on again!June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

So quite a busy day today but as DD3 is off nursery with chicken pox, I can get much more done because I am not rushing out at 11 to collect her.0 -
I have read through a lot of the posts on here and would just like to say 'hello' and let you all know that I am really quite envious.......... I'm going through the empty nest syndrome I confess, gone from busy house to empty house (even though all offspring keep coming back for tea, help, a moan, a lift, etc etc). I loved being a SAHM, even on the rainy days and so-tired-you-cant-move days. I am now all important and indispensable in an office, get paid way better than when I was Mum, and have a real grown up social life. But I would swap my exciting board meeting for a table full of playdough and cookie cutters anyday! People used to say to me it all goes too quick, and on some days it seemed to drag on and on. But they were right. I loved the baking, making, walks, water play, garden foraging and rushing hither and thither to clubs. So, to all you stay at home parents (have to be correct here as two of my colleagues are stay at home dads) well done for all your hard cwork, enjoy it all and have good days!
Maybe I should go back to childminding? Hmmmm

Baby has chicken pox now, but only a few. She's been pretty restless though...
Covers are back on pushchair, only 2 screws left over out of nearly 30...June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

Awww thanks. I know when I gave up work after my maternity leave all the women that had been SAHM's when their children were younger came up to me and had a quiet word saying that they loved it and I was doing the right thing and they were so pleased for me! (I do think SAHM are not the 'norm' anymore and some people think we are odd) I don't know anyone that has regretted their time as a SAHM and I had worked my way up the ladder at work but I don't miss it at all. For me and my family being a SAHM is right and I will probably be writing a similar post to you in years to come
. Thank you.

Went to co-op earlier and baby screamed the whole way around, she hates supermarkets for some reason...
I got the usual empathetic smiles and sympathetic old ladies... and a middle aged Italian guy who came up to me and said
"You should play her some classical music."
How very helpful. What am I supposed to do, buy her an I-pod?June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500
