    Can I join too pls?

I am a SAHM to 4 children, DD's Lauryn, 6, Ashley, 5 and Bailey 2.5 and DS Che who is 4mths.

I have been a SAHM since mat leave with Lauryn, so will be 7yrs in Oct.
(although I have worked evenings and w/ends at various points in this time, I have always been home during the week to do sch runs etc)

I am currently not working at all, my DP works 36hrs a week for the DWP and doesn't earn a fantastic amount for that... (It's ok, but when you have 4kids and some debt it's not fantastic!!!)

We went 18mths with DP being out of work and now he is back in work we have been spending more then we should on things we don't really need like takeaways and cinema as we went such a long time without anything at all but now we really need to start buckling down again and sorting out the debts that accumulated over that time..
SAHM to Lauryn Alyssa:female: (Nov 2003), Ashley Jay:female: (Jan 2005), Bailey Shae:female: (July 2007) and Che Lennon :male: (Oct 2009)

I have read through a lot of the posts on here and would just like to say 'hello' and let you all know that I am really quite envious.......... I'm going through the empty nest syndrome I confess, gone from busy house to empty house (even though all offspring keep coming back for tea, help, a moan, a lift, etc etc). I loved being a SAHM, even on the rainy days and so-tired-you-cant-move days. I am now all important and indispensable in an office, get paid way better than when I was Mum, and have a real grown up social life. But I would swap my exciting board meeting for a table full of playdough and cookie cutters anyday! People used to say to me it all goes too quick, and on some days it seemed to drag on and on. But they were right. I loved the baking, making, walks, water play, garden foraging and rushing hither and thither to clubs. So, to all you stay at home parents (have to be correct here as two of my colleagues are stay at home dads) well done for all your hard cwork, enjoy it all and have good days!

Maybe I should go back to childminding? Hmmmm

    Sam my thoughts precisely!:T

Been having a difficult few days with the kids (and now baby has chicken pox, 3rd child in 4 weeks!) but...
as I gazed out of my kitchen window at my happily playing children, while stirring a pot of soup with one hand and breastfeeding a baby with the other... I realised being a stay at home Mum isn't all that bad...

Sorry you not having a good time atm ragz - I blame the pox - I know how much its getting me down now my LO has it, and shes the only one to get it. For me its meaning that the morning school run is having to be done by my dad - who lives 20 miles away! and obviously I cant take her to the shops etc.
I have been throwing everything I can at the spots and finally she seems to be on the mend now. Her birthday on Monday and while I know she not going to be allowed back to nursery it would just be nice to be able to take her to the park or something.

    My list for today

    Confirm party booking
    Confirm swimming lessons booking
    Dinner in SC
    Hang out washing x 2
    Tidy din rm

And thats about it, got loads more than normal done yesterday so not much left today!!

    !!

Sorry your DD's got it so bad. My sons were allowed back to Nursery a week after the spots appeared. Around then or when they start to scab is when they stop being contagious, though the spots still show for ages. I kept them all out of toddlers group when they were at the contagious stage but have still been taking them to the shops and visiting people. Luckily none of mine have been that bothered by it, baby's a bit restless and snuffly but could have been worse.
I'm getting more down by the fact that she seems to hate cars and pushchairs so I can't take her anywhere - to do list is getting longer and nothing is being done.

Still got to find somewhere to live and there are no houses for rent here at the moment, got 5 weeks and I'm getting a bit nervous!
