Sorry your DD's got it so bad. My sons were allowed back to Nursery a week after the spots appeared. Around then or when they start to scab is when they stop being contagious, though the spots still show for ages. I kept them all out of toddlers group when they were at the contagious stage but have still been taking them to the shops and visiting people. Luckily none of mine have been that bothered by it, baby's a bit restless and snuffly but could have been worse.
I'm getting more down by the fact that she seems to hate cars and pushchairs so I can't take her anywhere - to do list is getting longer and nothing is being done.
Still got to find somewhere to live and there are no houses for rent here at the moment, got 5 weeks and I'm getting a bit nervous!
Nursery have said she cant go back with scabs so no chance yet, besides she been so ill with it, she even had spots in her throat. Have been keeping her dosed on piriton it has helped the itching and made her drowsy so she been fairly quiet.
Do you have a baby carrier/sling that you can use instead of pram? What type of pram are you using?
On the house front have you given notice or are you going to slip into a rolling contract?0 -

Aww poor little one, looks like my 3 got off lightly then.
I have baby carrier that SIL gave me but when I took it out the other day I discovered after 5 mins struggling in the rain that I can't get it on without help! Will have to dig out my old baby bjorn one.
She's got a pram and a pushchair and doesn't like either, though she's happy to sleep in the pram in the garden.
Worst is the car tho, she just screams until she's bright red and glares at me the whole time, may put her in the back so she can't see me. It just puts me off leaving the house so I feel like a prisoner... getting me down a bit as I've so much to do.
We told agents we aren't renewing the contract and two days later they've found someone who wants to move in asap. :eek:June Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

I had a mirror that attached to my car seat so that the baby could be in the back but I could still see them and it occupied baby too cos they could sit looking at the beautiful baby in front of them!! May be worth a go.
As for the house - even if your contract is coming to an end you must still be entitled to the two months notice period from your landlord, I would get some good advice on your rights and find out what is the absolute earliest you will have to leave by. Just cos you dont want to renew does not mean they can just tell you to move on.
Finding a house to rent is always difficult - we ended up moving out of our town as there were no suitable properties in our town at a price we could afford, I commute the kids to school every day 12 miles each way. I realised the other day its taking two hours a day travelling. Just hoping we can buy something in our town soon cos its starting to get me down a bit now.
It may be worth talking to mums/dads at school, I found out after we moved that a staff member of school had a house empty that was her mothers, she plans to sell it this summer but it has sat empty in between because she didnt know how to go about renting it out etc.0 -
Just had another thought - someone on our local freecycle cafe group asked for house to rent last week, and has arranged something via freecycle, moves it next weekend I think.0

That's a thought, I know you can't ask on freecycle but never thought about the cafe group. Will give that a try. Thanks xJune Grocery Challenge £493.33/£500 July £/£500

BLitzed the house this morning as someone else was coming to view this afternoon. In 3 hours I got so much done, though in that time I only sat down to feed baby and change nappies, aside from that I was a blur.
Found a house to look at, waiting for agent to call back.

Hi all,
Sorry i haven't posted for a while. I have been bad this week with housework (but for a reason) We are moving ds into the second bedroom this weekend and putting cot back in the nursery and going to store all baby items in there. It is sons last night in the baby room
Am I sad to feel sad?
We are also doing a carboot sale to get rid of some junk and clear some room. We are also using our wardrobes in our sons room as we are buying the same IKEA range we already have and we are going to have new wardrobes in our room that fit the space better. So the house is in a right mess with all that going on so apart from sorting out stuff and moving it around to different rooms I haven't done much else (apart from obviously cooking, cleaning up kitchen and stuff like that). I am planning a major clean up next week after all the moving around! I am tired just thinking about everything we have to get done this weekend. I just hope we make some money at the carboot and it doesn't turn out to be a waste of time. I have just sat and priced it up/boxed it up. I was going to freecycle it all so what ever we make will be a bonus. I will freecycle/take to charity shop whatever we have left. I also need to freecycle some furniture tomorrow. I think I should go to bed! :rotfl:
Hope everyone with kids with chicken pox get better very soon! But please stay away from me! I have never had it and will need a jab if I come into contact while preggers. Arghh!SAHM Mummy tods (born Oct 2007) and dd (born June 2010)0 -

Good luck with the boot sale, and definitely stay away from the pox, I caught it when I was pregnant with my son, had to be isolated in the maternity wing while they flew serum in, it was very scary and a nightmare.0
