i think im going to start a to do list, it will help not having to fetch jack at 11.30 instead it will be 3.30 or hubby will pick him up if finished work in time.

I find the things i never seem to get done are
    1, putting clothes away
    2, emptying th kitchen bins
    3, dusting bedrooms

what are jobs in your house that you dont get done?

have done my meal plan for next week and have worked out online how much it should cost
i also want to get my kitchen more organised and have a clear out of my wardrobe and sort some kids toys/clothes to ebay/charity shop

  • I know this is sad and very very boring, but I had a light bulb moment at the end of last year.

I was fed up with the piles and piles of washing that came off the airers that would then go into two towering piles of put away and ironing.

They just seemed to litter the entire downstairs taking longer than a day to dry, then one night when we were having visitors I put the airers upstairs on our compact landing, and they were perfectly dry the next day, and I put the washing away in the individual drawers instead of it collecting in a pile and me having to do a weekly sort between person and drawers.

I am sure no one else has got themselves into as much of a pickle as I did with sorting the clean washing.

But finally I feel I am getting control of it.

Now the items that don't need ironing get dried upstairs in the day and by morning they are dry and get put away before the next load is done.

The few ironing items are dried downstairs and I no longer feel bogged down by the washing piles.

Just that half an hour a week I have saved in the sorting is a god send, because I don't get depressed by yet another job needing my attention.

Giving me probably the new time I need for the potty training that is currently in its first week and driving me to distraction!

I went full term (2 days over in one case) and never made it to the nesting stage :rotfl:

dont know how much is going to get done today, im exhausted... yet another bad night with DS and ive hardly had any sleep so im in zombie mode,
however i totally gutted the front room yesterday and it hasnt been this clean or tidy for months and months (possibly ever!) so its not all bad,
the kitchen though... looks worse than ever,
i might try and pick through a corner of that but at the moment i just want to sleep :(
  • oh crikey, everyone looks like they are so busy! My OH moved in 2 days ago and the contents of his flat is now in a pile on the living room floor....despite my best efforts of not nagging at him to sort it out (its all tools, so too heavy for me to lift!)
My plan for today is to go into town and get DD school trousers and a trip to clarks for new school shoes, while the OH lays in bed saying he 'doesnt feel well', well mister I'm the one who is 36 weeks preggers and feeling like !!!! but unfortunatly my kids don't look after themselves
    rant over :rotfl:

Morning all! I managed a lie till 9am yay, so im still sat here in bed with the little one who's attacking a tigger toy that's bigger then her! She should pick her battles better :rotfl:

Not alot to do today just need to go pick up some little bits from the shop, see my nan, get new tyres on the car, new head light put in the car, hoover the house and bake some biscuits and cook/find something for dinner tonight. All the while entertaining The Little Miss and stopping OH from annoying me lol

Im kinda glad our washing machine is broken so I don't have to do the piles of washing! OH takes it to the launderette when he's at work and picks it up on his break.

DH has taken the children out after a bad night with Miss Screamy pants  So finish my toast and coffee (yes, I am just up, that bit of sleep was far more important to my mental health than a tidy house) then make a start.

    Aims for today.

    1. Hoover downstairs
    2. Dust living romm
    4. Sort out Miss Screamy's toys
    3. Put remainder of Christmas clutter away
    6. Pair socks
    8. 15mins of ironing
    9. 30mins of DLA form
    5. Clean bathroom - it's at biohazard stage
    7. Clear snotty tissues from next to my bed :o

( I wrote it before I prioritised it and can't be bothered fixing it even though by the time I have wrote this I would have been quicker)

ETA, is everyone else prioritising their lists? I think it may work well.
  • HI everyone, well I have quite a few jobs to do today!

3 loads of washing plus the drying and ironing.
Tidy DD's toys in her room and change her bed.
    Hoover the living room
Mop the living room and kitchen floors

    That doesn't seem too bad!

    Hello!

Well it's saturday - officially a cleaning day off :) well, sort of. I still do my daily bits - washing and washing up but that's about it. I find I start emptying the bins etc when I am upset by something. And as my ex-oh dumped me on christmas day the place is looking relatively sparkly.

I went 10 days overdue and never got to the nesting stage either! I obviously don't have it in me.

    Today, I will/have:

    -put the washing on
    -put dry washing away
-hang wet washing up (there's nowhere to dry anything here! it's currently in tiny hallway, I have to breathe in to get to my bedroom)
    - recycle some booze bottles as they are becoming a hazard and it looks like I'm an alky
    - take 1 bag to charity shop (is it just me that feels guilty about giving them my "crap"? It's all good stuff but I feel funny about making them sort it out)
    - have a coffee when out as Little Rainbow is with his dad today
    - ditto go to Mr M's with no screaming child
    - make a luscious meal just for me
    - watch a romcom and keep the faith that there are some lovely men out there

Well, I know lots of it has nothing to do with being organised but I have to make myself do the nice things for myself too. No idea why, but this year I'm not putting myself last.

    Love to all!
