Where does the time go? :think:0 -
DS6 had a birthday party today in our local community centre, he is quite shy and didn't want me to leave, I've had 4 days off work and the house was tidy on thursday, now its a tip again and i'm back at work again tomorrow. The sooner I stop working the better!! We were discussing child care for the half term holiday at the party and was telling one of the mothers that I was really struggling for child care and was planning on becoming a SAHM, you should have seen her face, you would of thought I had just told her that I was a serial killer!!!0

my house was tidy on Friday but with OH and BIL here all weekend it's now a tip again! I can keep up with it during the week but weekends is an endless battle of moving beer cans, crisp packets, cups, glasses, bowls & plates.
Can't see what the big issue with being a SAHM is! I would love to do it if I could afford to!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Don't know what you mean by "can't see what the issue is" about being a SAHM. If you're talking about keeping up with stuff, then when you're done cleaning at your house, you can pop on over to mine! :rotfl:
We did some big-time rearranging in the house yesterday, and in order to do it everything got moved around in the dining room, bedroom, and kitchen. But now the small stuff all needs to be put away again. Basically we had 2 huge bookcases full of stuff (books, pictures, extra food supplies, etc etc) in the dining room, but we wanted more room in the dining room. So we emptied the bookcases, gave one to our DD for her flat (she's now happily putting stuff on it in her place) and moved the other one to our bedroom, where it was desperately needed. So now I need to put away all the "stuff" that was in those bookcases - which is currently stacked on the table and floor in the dining room.
That plus still washing all DS3's clothing as his eczema reacted to the other laundry soap - I've only partway gotten through his clothing and bedding, so still have the rest to complete. Plus regular laundry. And todya's bottles and washing up. Plus we need to run into town today and buy stamps, post some payments, possibly pick up a new rain cover for the pushchair, and pick up milk, bread, and tinned tuna at FarmFoods (as it's cheaper). Busy day here LOL.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -

Ah, thanks for clearing that up. I was a bit puzzled. That makes more sense. I have noticed people tend to look at me like I have 2 heads when the SAHM part comes up. Or the look like I'm somehow beneath them because I'm not working - or that I'm using the benefits system or something. Very annoying.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -

My house is a bloody tip because OH is a hoarder and we don't have much storage space. Yet OH thinks that because I'm sitting on my ariss doing nothing all day it should all be clean and sparkly and his tea should be on the table when he gets in from work. :rotfl:A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

You know, of course, what the best cure for that is, don't you?? Leave him alone for a few hours (or even better, at least half the day) with the baby (or in our case, the 3yo and the baby) and let him see what it's ACTUALLY like. And often DH makes the tea here, so there's no "tea on the table" ready for him!MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0
