You know, of course, what the best cure for that is, don't you?? Leave him alone for a few hours (or even better, at least half the day) with the baby (or in our case, the 3yo and the baby) and let him see what it's ACTUALLY like. And often DH makes the tea here, so there's no "tea on the table" ready for him!

    :rotfl:If I don't laugh I'll cry!

OH's excuse is he works so he doesn't have to do anything!
He knows Jack has a very short attention span and needs almost constant attention! Jack fell asleep on him yesterday and kept asking me to bring him stuff cos he couldn't move - I asked him how he thought I managed during the day and he said 'Oh yeah, I can see it would be difficult!'

After a week at home snowed off work my DH quickly came to realise that staying at home with the kids is far from easy! He was so glad to go back to work and get some peace and quiet!
I don't expect him to do anything around the house (apart from put the bins out, which he usually forgets!) as he works but I resent him sitting on his bum all day when he isn't at work, so I usually get him playing with the kids or keeping an eye on them while I do the housework.

Well its half term so I have slipped already.

However am now dressed and kids dressed too, have got rid of last of sleepover guests so just have my own kids here thank goodness. After seeing my bills for last week am making major effort to keep heating off as much as poss and switch everything off when its not used. It is really irritating that I have already switched the dining room TV off seven times this morning. Grrrrr!!

    My list for today

    [STRIKE]Unload DW and Reload[/STRIKE]
Empty dishes from sink (none DW stuff)
    Washing x3
    Dryer x1
    Empty Airing cupboard
Tidy DS5 bedroom (dad coming today to fix his TV to wall)
    Cook dinner
    [STRIKE]List stuff ebay[/STRIKE]
    Wrap sold items to post
    Shop (bread milk )
Pack away air beds from sleepovers
Organise movie times for Weds big cinema outing
Book hairdresser for friend and OH
Call mobile supplier and request PAC

Am pleased that while dragging spare bedding out of its bags at weekend for sleepover I finally found the lost bag of ironing from when we moved (4 months ago) hidden in the spare bedding bags!! And theres now more space under my bed to store stuff like suitcases!!

When OH was off with the snow he played PS3 all day, had the fire and the heating on all day (I have neither on) and his laptop on. Got annoyed when Jack cried or wanted attention and did sod all!
I don't mind doing the housework because I'm off but it will have to change when I eventually go back to work!

Just built my DVD stand so nipping out now to do the last few jobs on my list.

    Afternoon everyone!

Well, i'm not doing brilliantly at this getting organised stuff (well it doesn't look like it from the outside) but I am methodically going through cupboards and drawers and getting rid of things I don't want but have just been hanging around, so i think eventually the flat WILL look tidier!

A bookcase I ordered came this morning so I spent about 4 hours [STRIKE]swearing[/STRIKE] putting it together. It's not perfect but it says you need 2 people to put it together so I'm quite proud of myself now! And thank god for Nicktoons and good old Spongebob doing a bit of babysitting!

The groceries should be delivered in the next couple of hours, I only ordered them at about 10pm last night, it's such a time and sanity saver!

    So today's list:
    - [STRIKE]put bookcase together[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]wash up[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]washing on[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]hang washing out[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]put groceries away[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]make some cupcakes with DS[/STRIKE]
    - [STRIKE]list PS2 game on ebay[/STRIKE]

    Ta ra for now!

Fire AND heating Glam?! Was he running about in shorts and complaining he was too hot? My parents have no central heating but they keep their living room so hot it's unpleasant to sit in there and the rest of the house feels even colder by comparison.

I've decided to copy you and make a list for the week:

    - tidy TM interview
    - keep on top of my emails
    - start on PH interview
    - apply for PSU job
    - pay transcriptionist
    - rounds?
[STRIKE]- email JK about presenting in CPH[/STRIKE]
    - book flights
    - finish ISYF paper

[STRIKE]- buy mattress for travel crib[/STRIKE]
    - organise shipping for new pushchair

    - cancel DD for student loan (cause it's paid off!!)
    - laundry
    [STRIKE]- dishes[/STRIKE]
    - keep the clothes put away
[STRIKE]- get rid of charity box[/STRIKE]
    - keep desk clear
    - update diary
    - banking
[STRIKE]- book hotel for BILs wedding[/STRIKE]
    - organise my new website
[STRIKE]- tidy photos in my computer[/STRIKE]
    - cardboard out

    to be continued...

Ouch!! It wouldn't be pretty if that happened in this house!! DH is actually good about that kind of thing. He makes tea in the evenings (or I do and he watches the boys, depending on what we're having), we both feed and change the boys, as well as general care and household stuff. We both live here and we are both their parents, so we both do household and childcare stuff. Doesn't matter that DH works outside the home and I don't.
