Hi everyone - I'm joining too.
Theres quite a few familiar names from parent thread, but hello everyone else.
I've been on mat leave for a year, back at work for four weeks, and now left work to be a full time mum.
I've got DS 12, DD9 and DD 11 months nearly.
DS is autistic but like rainbow said, when he's at school its so much easier to do stuff!
Rainbow How old is your son? Does he not like all shops, or does he have particular ones? Mine hates Somerfield, Tesco, Next and Clarks but doesn't mind Asda. I blame the lighting.
I'm an ironing addict and really do iron everything! Underwear, socks and tea towels included - I aim to wean myself off the iron, however I don't think I could iron nothing.:beer:0 -
What about SAHD's? Or do we have to get our own threads :rotfl: (I work from home, so I think that counts)
Okay, i'll get my taxi0 -
I'm sure you're welcome MOTM - you're an honorary girl after all.
And with all of those girls you must be a bit organised - you can probably teach us all a lot!:beer:0 -

I'm afraid I don't wear the clothes though (at least not often)
To be perfectly honest, i'm pretty organised even if I have to blag my way through most days
My request was tongue in cheek anyway, i'm used to there being nothing for single fathers, although i'm newly un-single as you know.
I still want to send you all my ironing though, 30 -
argos used to sell them, but I just had a look and they don't seem to anymore, maybe wilkos is worth a look?
edit, just found this... http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.100-3463.aspx
That was the one in the book, but it looks tiny! I need more of a large-enough-to-bathe-a-donkey-in size :rotfl:
None of my list done, we went into town and had fun. I'm using the excuse that my ear still hurtsI did get a diary from boots though, but ho wlong do you suppose before it goes missing hmmm?

i got a new page a day diary, i have found out all the important birthdays and everyones addresses and am determined to get better at sending cards for everyone...
i need a bigger basket too really, but im worried no matter what size it is it will still get hidden under the pile of clothes that will inevitably get thrown over it0 -
I've got the drawer fro the small filing cabinet sitting in front of the tree to go through. Most of it is stuff to be shredded, but I just can't face it!
I did manage to get road tax online just 5mins ago... it runs out tonight! And the DLA & FF forms have been pulled out. Will do FF one, DLA is depressing.
Ironing basket is full too...
How about a wee challenge, fly lady style? New Years, we aim to fill a bin bag of clutter a week and get rid?
I need to go do bottles and dishes and put washing over radiators (TD is in our room but DD is sleeping in there) and have a serius look at the ironing basket and fill in forms and hoover downstairs cos bits of tinsel are sticking to my feet...0 -
I'm a SAHM also, with a 3yo DS2 and 5mo DS3 (our DS1 and DD are older and live on their own). I could be a lot more organised, and I have noticed as they get older, I'm able to get more done, little by little. Saying that, I dread them going to school - love having them home!
We went around in circles about the bottles too. HV gave us a right lecture about how you were supposed to boil the water, mix the formula, then cool the bottle and give it to the baby - each time he was hungry!! So doing that every 3 hours!! Not likely!! We boil the water, mix the formula, cool the bottles and put them in the fridge, once per day (or more if needed), and warm the bottles up to room temp in a bowl of hot water when needed. My understanding was that while the premade formula in containers is sterile, the powdered formula is not, therefore they want parents to mix the powder with water within 30 minutes of boiling (so it doesn't get lower than a certain temp before mixing) in order to kill any germs or spores that may be in the powder mix. I know initially I thought it was a water issue, but it's actually a concern over the powder possibly carrying any germs. Just so we're not paranoid enough, eh? :rotfl:
But yes, I'll happily join - I do need to be more organised - around the house, with the kids, and just in general.MSE mum of DS(7), and DS(4) (and 2 adult DCs as well!)DFW Long haul supporters No 210:snow_grin Christmas 2013 is coming soon!!! :xmastree:0 -
Hiya all, I would like to join too! I am a SAHM to ds1 (5), dd (3) and ds2 (2). So I have 3 school runs a day as dd only in mornings and inbetween that I volunteer one morning a week, take kids to cooking class, parent group at school, parent/govenor at school and try to enterain ds2 and cook everything from scratch as really need to stick to my budget and clean and ebay stuff and now i made sock monkeys!!! phew!! think thats it!! :P
I really need to be more organised as every room in house need scrubbing and de cluttering so next year i want to get the house organised and hopefully get a bit of money ebaying it all! I am planning on popping onto fly lady once a day and doing as much as i can from what they say to do. Hopefully it will help.
Speak to you soon0 -
Wow! Thanks for all joining in! the thread has really taken off! Hi all! and sorry of course SAHD's are welcome!
...and about stair baskets - I got the one from tesco but it didn't fit on our stairs! I had to take it back. I then got one from Home Bargains and I did fill it with stuff and took it upstairs once it was over full of junk and it is sitting in the spare room still full (and has been for months :rotfl:) They are a great idea if you do use it right. I didn't but maybe I should start using it again?SAHM Mummy tods (born Oct 2007) and dd (born June 2010)0
