if its any use to you, i used to boil the fresh water and put the right amount into the sterile bottles at some point during the day, then keep them at room temp (or in the fridge whatever your happier with) and then make them up with the milk powder when the boy needed one, then you can always tailor the amount needed and if theres too much your only throwing away water, not expensive milk powder...
it worked very well for us
now if i could just figure out whats messing with his sleep patterns...(hence me being here at this time)
off to start a new thread i think!0 -
Hi there
This is just the threadI need. I have just finished work to go on maternity leave for the 3rd time. I am definately having a year off and need to get organised before the baby arrives in March. My eldest is at school and youngest is at nursery for 1 whole day and 2 half days so I need to use this time to get organised.
Will be looking for inspiration, thanks all.

Great thread. Here's what I did yesterday -
Sorted all the kids' toys into their proper toy drawers/boxes/tubs and labelled everything so they can find them easily. Got rid of broken toys.
Cleaned out their art stuff and got rid of broken/dried up stuff. Put it into boxes and tubs and pencil cases. My neice gave us a great storage box for them that used to be hers.
We're picking up some wood to make lips on the bookshelves so they can stack them more easily.
Today it's the kitchen cupboards!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Elle, don'y have outlook on here, but I need a paper one anyway so that DH can look at it and I don't have to get distracted by opening the laptop.
Dunno where your magic world changing basket would go, hall maybe?
I make bottles up with water and add powder when needed, but shhhh... don't mention it on here, you'll get slated for poisoning your child
Used to use flylady but stopped while pregnant and can't get into teh way of it again, mainly because I have to focus on just keeping the main room clean that can cause illness (kitchen and bathroom), and it is more about trying to get the house sorted around 3 children.
So lets see, what are my main to do's right now...
Ironing
Sort out paperwork - shred stuff
DLA and FF forms
Take down decorations
Clean bathroom
Tidy kids room
Get rubbish out our room (its amazing how much rubbish accumulates!) maybe get a bin for there too.0 -
I managed to sort the toy cupboards out last night :j, and actually was good and got rid of some of the puzzles that never get played with. Will sort the rest of the living room, once I can get the decs down in the new year.Katie (age 26)Proud Mummy toRenee Ann born 25th September 05Toby Charles born 25th December 07Ollie Leigh born 11th December 090

Hi everyone
good idea for a thread
I'm currently on mat leave (36 weeks preggers) and have a disabled 7 year old boy and 5 year old girl who actually enjoys wetting herself . I am due to go back to work august-ish, but don't want to, so will be doing what I can to afford to be a SAHM
My plan for next week, as the kids are back at school is to put their curtain poles up properly, new coat rack in shoe cupboard and start washing and ironing all bubs stuff ready for his arrival...why is it though I think I will get none of that done and spend all day watching tv:rotfl:
and whats this about bottles of formula? i used to make a batch of 6/8 up with water and powder and put them in the fridge and reheat as needed over 24 hours or what not with my two, is that not 'allowed' nowadays?2010 resolutions1- get my 5yo DD dry daytime, with enuresis help dry since 12th Jan so far!

yeah but thats what your supposed to do now!
why should all babies have to wait, hungry and crying while you boila kettle and make up an absolute fresh bottle because just 1% might react to the powder?? i wanted to put more on that thread but didnt have the energy for it
aaaaaanyway, i need one of those stair baskets, its a real dumping ground at our house and gets quite dangerous... a basket may be what i need!
where can i get one?0 -
