BT Total Broadband Option 1 gives you everything you need to get online, including a free wired router, installation CD and welcome pack. For extra flexibility, you can upgrade to a Wireless Home Hub for just £30**.

Now i've already bought the wireless Home Hub with this package. So because i get a free wired router, does that mean i can have the wired router for the desktop Pc and the Hub for my laptop, so i can use both computers and be charged the same?

I gave up on the home hub last night, turned it off and went back to my old el cheapo wireless router. My connection speed is just as quick and i don't have to ar5e about for 5-10 minutes every time i turn the computer on trying to persuade the computer to log into the wireless network.

BT are the cheekiest MF's going in my opinion! I emaile dthem a couple of week ago and said that I wanted the New BT HOme hub, and that I didnt want to pay for it as I had been a loyal customer for years and that I was on there top broadband package Option 4. They emailed me back and said that I could have a Home hub for nothing. Then the next day I got a phone call from BT from a nice lady saying that my new home hub would be delivered in a couple of weeks. Fantastic I thought.

So 26/07 came and my free BT Home Hub was delivered minus the nice looking telephone that I thought would be attached. So after a couple of emails to BT saying that they must have forgot to include this phone, I get a call from them (2 days later) saying that I am not entitled to a free hub phone just the Hub, and if I wan the Hub phone I would have to pay £49.99. To this I replied "Why are you offering this free to new customers and not to existing ones that have been witht you for years and spent a !!!! load of money with you over the years" They just said sorry but we are just not ok.

After this I explained that BT are very expensive as an ISP and there phone line is expensive too, and that if they didnt sent me a free phone as well I would cancel everything I have with BT and go to NTL. To this he replied (like a cocky SOB) "You cant leave BT, you have agreed to stay with us for 12 months" No when the hell did I say that, because I have an email from BT saying that I can have a free hub and there is no mention of a binding 12 month contract, he was silent for a little while and said that he would have to go and check the phone call that was made to me from BT saying when my Home Hub would be delivered. I am currently awaiting a reply from one of there managers!

Now I must just say that I first became aware of the new HOME hub with hub phone from BT's advertising campain on the TV atm and in that advert the actor says "This home comes with the new BT Home HUB" pointing to a white box with a BLOODY Hub phone attached to it! SO surely this advert is saying that the BT Home hub comes with a hub phone.

Anyway I want one and if I dont get one I am going to cancel BT and go with NTL as there whole package is £49.99 a month! And I worked out that I am paying about £100 a month for BB phone & Sky so thats a pretty big saving dont you think , and thats with 4meg BB as aposed to Bt's "Upto 8MB" I only get 2mb and it crashes about 5 times a day.

BT have gone to the dogs I am afraid, I mean I have heard bad things about NTL but how bad can thay be, I make most of my phone calls using my Mobile as I am on a Tmobile Flext 180 tariff so I wouldnt use that land line much. SHould I do it should I go to NTL??????????????????

Can anyone with a BT hub phone tell me whether the phone requires separate power (like other wireless phone hubs) or is it recharged via the BT home hub.
Presumably if I buy a separate dect phone the base will have to be connected to power for recharging, taking up more deskspace and another power point!
Any guidance wil be appreciated. Thanks.
