Ebay - Cash on collection should be scrapped!

I don't think people are being rude - if you don't know ebays rules, you can't blame them and the seller for your ignorance. Its the same as buying something out of the small ads in the paper. Better to give things a good road test before buying.
How was i ignorant?£10,000 in 2010 = £00 -
I'm sorry for what happened OP, I agree, COC can potentially be difficult for both buyers and sellers. I hope you've managed to find better travel gear for your baby and that you can follow up the judgement to understand what happened. As for some of the comments on this thread, they're beyond inappropriate and smack of internet point scoring. What a shame.
I shall follow up.£10,000 in 2010 = £00 -

Can you tell us was it only the brakes that were at fault with the pram? and what exactly was the problem with the carseat? Me and my husband own a baby shop so may be able to advise.
No there was problems with the wheels, one of which has just given up even working. The pram itself seems to wobble and head to one side. Its wonky, so one set of wheels doesn't touch always touch the floor. i was also sold a broken raincover :rolleyes:
The car seat was just very unhygienic.£10,000 in 2010 = £00 -

Ignorant of what ebay advises, not to pay by cash. Perhaps you can get the items repaired?0 -
i would suspect the chassis has been bent, could be from hitting a kerb, not folded correctly or the weight of either shopping or an older child (we have this an awful lot) in what way was the car seat unhygienic? what is the make and model of the car seat and pushchair?
Raincovers are cheap enough to replace but should have been obvious on first inspection0 -

Depending on severity the chassis can be repaired if this is what is at fault. If by unhygienic you mean the carseat is dirty, then alot of the time the covers can be removed and washed and the shell cleaned with warm soapy water0 -

Straps and p'styrene...The pram is a pliko mamas and papas.
@mealeys - I didn't ignore the warnings, but i felt at the time i had to pay cash as i had the pram there.£10,000 in 2010 = £00 -

The raincover was folded up, tbh i completely forgot about it. I didnt want to replace the raincover as im having to replace the entire pram.
How much would the pram cost to repair? Any estimates?£10,000 in 2010 = £00 -
the straps can be cleaned and the polystyrene could have easily been overlooked by the seller though it doesn't pose much of a health risk to be honest. The Pliko make has been around for quite a while so the pushchair could be anything from a few years old to 6 months old. I don't suppose you would know the name of the fabrics? That might help pin it down a bit but the reason the brakes are faulty are because of the bent chassis meaning they are not 'catching' correctly on the wheels.0

no discount was given, seller delivered so asked for more to cover petrol, i found this fair.
You said you didn't know ebay advised against paying cash! Thats what Im referring to!0
