Well done on your win Mooloo!
Could the post date be 5th July though, don't they do it the other way round in America?

    Oh? Maybe, I forgot that!
They will think I am gone daft in the head then with the reply I sent! Oops silly me.
But if so what took it so long since I was contacted about winning a prize?
Anyway, I am thrilled what ever the reason.

    Evening everyone.

Been sorting out my craft room today, been given a nice ottoman which needs a bit of loving care and repair. Have been filling it up all day with some of my sewing stuff to keep it all out of the way, made the room look tidier too.

Made a little summer top for youngest daughter this afternoon too from the left overs of the shirt fabric. Just need to hand stitch the binding on the neck this evening.

I have updated my blog again as I took some pics of the new quilt which went on my Folksy shop today

Forgot to add, well done Mooloo xx

And well done all of you with the blinds. This is something I might give a go to one of these days as out bathroom could do with some.

Well the book is all about hand sewing, but its absolutely inspiring for some of the little things. Well it is to me.
I just had a telephone call from Biggest of Mooloo's. Her friend (who used to come to my house when they were all little), has asked if I still make wedding dresses and would I be interested in making hers.
Biggest of Mooloo has told her that she was sure that I would, although I would need plenty of time to do it in, and that I can no longer zip them up in a day or two like i used to do.
I am quite chuffed actually, and I am honoured too. To be remembered, and for her to want me to make her dress. She is not getting Married until the July next year. So I will have plenty of time to do it. So I have told Biggest that I will, although that I am not going back to making them for everyone.
(My arm would not take it.).
Today the shop took two more of my bags and two of the purses, the ones in the Cath Kidston fabrics. I am going back in to see her tomorrow, and to sort out the structure of things, and invoice/payments etc as at the moment its all a bit flimsy.
I will need to get a duplicate book, to leave with deliveries, and then tie up the loose ends on the sale or return bases ones.
But I am not sure that she really sells enough stuff, and she is not a business minded woman really. Which will not bode well, if things are not sorted out from the beginning really.

I bought a fabulous dress today, in the Antique Cellar in Brackley. Molly and I had got together to share ideas, show her my latest makes and have a mooch too. The dress is a sundress, with a blue print on a white background, and I think is amazing. The owner of that particular stall came around, and she said that I could have it reduced to £6!! I was amazed. I couldnt buy the fabric for that price. So I have another lovely dress to add to my wardrobe especially for the weekend when we are off to Ragdale hall for my birthday celebration. A 2 night Pampering. YIPEE.

I saw a beautiful suit cover somewher while I was mooching on the internet, and I would love to have the time to make one for myself. Maybe it better be a dress cover now! I hope I can come up with enough time to finish making my dress, and make what I need to take with me. I only have 6 days left! EEEK and double EEEEK.

Earlier there was a mention of small premature baby, Congrats on the birth, Kaz. My twins were prems. They were 4lb 1/2oz and 5lb 1 1/2oz and 6 weeks early. They had to go into incubators for the first 10 days, in special baby unit. It was a very emotional time. Now they are both taller then me, and several dress sizes larger too!!

Right I have so many things to think about I think my head is spinning. DGD is here in the bath playing with her toys, talking to them etc. She has loads of ducks, and cups and bottles, I am surprised there is any more room for her in the bath these days!

Hi can anyone recommend somewhere to buy zips from that are reasonably priced but not going to break after the first time they are used. I've looked on ebay but really like to use someone who has been recommended.

    Thanks in advance.

Have decided to use the curtains as curtains and if I get fed up with them then use them for making bags - best of both workds me thinks.

Hi all I'm after advice - please!!!

Went to the CS today and bought a cream sheet and a cream duvet set which has similar colour daisys on, all to be used for quilting/lining bags. I also bought a pair of curtains, pictured below because I liked the colours.

Now for the advice - I really like these curtains and they should fit what I am grandly calling my "craft room". Do you think I should use them as curatins or use the fabric for bags? I am a little concerned that as the pattern is large it will be lost on bags and that would be a shame. Also they are handmade and the person that has made them has matched them really well.

    Any advice gratefully received.

i love that fabric- beautiful! if i'd bought them i would make them into a halter neck maxi dress (i have a great 70s pattern!). but if not a dress i would definitely stick to curtains i think you are right about the pattern getting lost on a bag :)

Sales, boots, charity shops, ebay- why would anyone ever pay full price for anything??!

I agree about the maxi dress. However, I have a much loved Boden canvas beach bag in these colours and if you were willing to 'fussy cut' panels around the flowers and swirls, they would make fab shopping bags too!

abakhan.co.uk are very reliable and often do bargain mixed bags of zips :)

I got some zips from here, on recommendation from someone on MSE (can't remember who). They seem pretty good quality, I got five packs of five 7" zips in different colours (25 in all) - all for £4.95 + p&p of £2.79. I am making little bags/purses to sell, so need quite a few. Good luck Ailsb with your zip hunt.

Had a busy day out of the house, so have done no sewing at all, not good at all, hope to get some done tomorrow.
