Well done it looks great0 -
I have spent a fair amount of time today sewing my roman blind for the downstairs loo. It has taken me so long because 1: I kept putting it off because I was scared
2: I spent absolutely ages matching the pattern perfectly, pinning it, photographing it and 3: then realising that if I sewed it as it was pinned, it would no longer match up, so repinned it. 4: photographed that 5: Thread kept snapping 6: sister sent a text to say she's in labour with haematuria and contractions every 3 mins but only 31 weeks pregnant so rang her to talk to her whilst her OH drove her to hospital. Talked her through her contractions for a bit and then tried to put her mind a rest.
Anyhoo, end result is. I have sewed the fabric together. I have made the pouch at the bottom for the bottom piece of wood to sit in. I am just trying to work out the way to connect the fabric to the top piece of wood. MiL is abroad so I can't ask her advice. DH has the lead for the camera in the car so I can't upload pics to ask for advice so I need to work this out for myself before I do any more stitching because I need to know the top bits measurements.
I am determined to get this finished so I can connect it up before tomorrow evening. Determined I tell you!

Maidstone market is on Tuesdays I think, I havent been there for years as its hard to park near by. I would love to go again, they had some nice haberdashery stalls, cant remember if they have any fabric stalls or shops apart from C & H and they are expensive.
I finished making the shirt, here is a photo of it.
There is a bigger picture on my blog but as the fabric is so patterned it is hard to make out the collar and everything.0 -
evening ladies. Can't stop for long, so will read through your posts tomorrow. I had ZUMBA! tonight and we kept on going with no breaks between songs. I now keep getting cramp in my toes so cannot sit for very long lol!
Just wondering if anyone managed to find any free patterns for teddy bear clothing, like what you can buy from one of those teddy-bear-factory type places???
The Little Man is 4 in September & desperate for a bear (like his big cousins) but I am not desperate to pay silly money for the outfits when I could whip them up myself!

You mean build-a-bear I think and I had the same problem. My niece and nephew spent about £40 each in the shop for stuff that could have been put together for about a fiver! The only tutorial I could find was for dungarees which was on Katherines (The Littlest Crafter) blog. I couldnt find any other patterns but am still looking. I think the best thing would be to buy some, take measurements then take them back! :rotfl: (believe me I have considered it!) p.s Im a Zumba fanatic! I have it on the Wii as well and its brilliant! x
Great makes everyone. Love the watch strap. Never seen that done before. My craft room is now set up in the new house thankfully and working on some stuff but nothing worth posting yet. Still checking in as often as I can though. HMO, I love your bag! Fabrics are gorgeous. x0 -

Kaz, when I've made roman blinds I've attached the top to the wood with velcro.
Rufus, the shirt is great.
Florence, your dolls are lovely. Did you say you painted on the shoes? How do they wear?0 -
Thanks, yes I know I need to velcro the top bit on, I have the baton with the shapr side of the velcro already attached so need to get the soft side from somewhere (wonder if DH would notice the piece of velcro he's had sitting in the kitchen for aaaaaaages go missing
).
I'm still up because my nephew was born at 10.43pm. 8 weeks and 5 days early. 3lb 8oz. My sister updated fb via text so I sent her a text back straight away. She then sent me a mms which I couldn't open so she rang me and we had a bit of a weepy chat. Then I figured out how to set my phone up to accept mms (with a little help from my friend google).
Anyhoo, I was wondering how to work out the flap sizes for want of a better explanation. I think I've done it but the blind is only 36 long and the tutorial says to have four sets of folds. This seems a lot of folds. I might have to eyeball it in the end as I have only got 2 dowels. Not trying to do that tonight though. Kaz - hope your sister and little nephew are doing well. 3lb 8oz isn't a bad weight for being so prem but I bet he looks soooo tiny. Hope all goes well for them over the next few days and he doesn't have to stay in hospital too long.
Rufus - the shirt is great never even thought about making a shirt, or converting one to a dress which someone did the other day (sorry can't remember who that was but clever idea).
Florence - the dolls are great. It's good to see how different they all are even though they are basically the same.
Mooloo - I followed the link to the pattern book, some nice things in it. The one thing that I thought was good for selling (possibly those that already sell could offer advice on this one) is the teacup pincushions. I thought I could get cheap eggcups from CS and use scraps of material to make the actual pincushion bit. Could even use small china cups.
Starting to think about doing a craft stall in November at a local charity that organises a craft sale. Not sure if I have the confidence to make things for others, think I would be gutted if I put lots of time and effort into making things for others to pick them up and criticise. Also not sure on how to price things. Lots more thought needed me thinks.
Anyway I have the day off today so more tidying in the "craft room" for me, also taking my dad to a local B&M for the first time, I need storage boxes. Will pop in the CSs whilst there, it would be rude not to :rotfl:Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

if you had not mentioned the sewing production line I would not have thought of it :rotfl: it's ideal for me as I have so many things to sew before end of Aug (and Wed). I can get more done now, I have only have time to sew in the 5 mins I have here there and everywhere
so if I get more than that I cut out bits ready
This wkend is going to be a sewing wkend for me
Sorry PrettyflamingoI didn't mean to be rude and welcome you here
as you will find out I run around like a headless chicken so sometimes don't always mind my manners
KazIm sure your little nephew will be fine
my nephew was 3 mths prem and 3lb 2oz he grew up to be a strapping 12yr old but sadly we lost him 5 yrs ago in a car accident
