Well I was not really in the mood, but I have altered my daughters partners jeans. They were about 3" too baggy either side of the legs, so thats done, and another pair of shorts have been repaired where they had torn at the crotch. Hopefully they will at least last him this summer. I hate doing alterations. They are not hard, its just a bit boring and not very satisfying at the end of the day.

With that out of the way, I can at least concentrate on what i want to do now.

Did I tell you that yesterday I got one of the old fashioned Wire cage Tailors dummy in the charity shop for £5. I am so thrilled. I can now put clothes on it, that I want to sell on ebay, I can also make clothes to fit me, being able to alter it to my size, and I can adorn it with a lovely french fabric, or shabby chic it!.
I also got some lovely fabric with olives and the writting, l'olive on it. that will go with my french themed cafe style kitchen I am aiming for.

Right now that I have sorted the sewing, have the dinner on, I can think about my bunting.

I can't remember where I was the other day that had a tailor's dummy in the window but it was £135.00  I remember thinking that you would need to make lots of clothes to recoup the cost. My Mum (who when she worked was a tailoress) had a dummy and she used it loads.

Isn't it funny that until I have just typed that sentence I had forgotten my mum was a tailoress - she would have been so proud of me doing sewing now.

I've made myself feel sad now so off to have a cup of tea before I search for a bag pattern similar to the Amelie one but free. I love the Amelie one but at the moment can't justify the price of the pattern.

Sorry to have made you sad! Especially when it was a good moment for me. I used to have two tailors dummies when I used t make the wedding dresses, one we called "skinny minnie" and the other one was larger and called "busty Bertha!!". Had forgotten that until now. They were broken/lost/destroyed over the moves since 2003.
So felt that I couldnt justify spending hundreds of pounds, but also was wanting one for ages. Often looked and bid on ebay but never got them.
Right I never did go up and sew, I have been on here doing stupid surveys! take up so much time really, only mean to do a bit and its been 3 hours!!!!! eeek, for pennies, how sad am I?

we went to the summer fair at school last saturday and there was a chocolate fountain which i had been looking for for my dd party next next, anyway to cut a long story short it belongs to a girl in the next class up from my dd and she said i can borrow it for the party, infact she brught it in on monday morning.

i am going to make her a thank you card and want to make a small gift to go with it but dont know what to do any sugestions.

first i thought a headband like the ones i posted the other day but ive never seen her wear anything like that, the only other thing i can think of is maybe a lavender heart but applique her initial on it or a mini tissue case but not sure about either.

any ideas i think she is just one year older than my dd so she is 10 i think
