I can't remember where I was the other day that had a tailor's dummy in the window but it was £135.00  I remember thinking that you would need to make lots of clothes to recoup the cost. My Mum (who when she worked was a tailoress) had a dummy and she used it loads.

Isn't it funny that until I have just typed that sentence I had forgotten my mum was a tailoress - she would have been so proud of me doing sewing now.

I've made myself feel sad now so off to have a cup of tea before I search for a bag pattern similar to the Amelie one but free. I love the Amelie one but at the moment can't justify the price of the pattern.

You'll faint at this one at £775 then.........

    Happy Birthday HMO!!:bdaycake:

all this talk of dummies has reminded me of the one in our loft. My Mum was a manageress of a charity shop that closed down. The tailors dummy was used in the window display. It has been unused now for at least 15 yrs!!!!!

From memory, it is tiny though. It says size 12 but that would be a vintage size 12 so probably more like a 8-10.

Maybe I should bite the bullet & do my first ebay sale??? It has a makers name on it, will have to have a look at what the make is so i can find out it's worth.

Hi can anyone tell mewhere they buy magnetic clasps for handbags from please. I've had a look on flea bay and they are cheap - £4 ish for 10. However some of the feedback says they are very thin and bend easily.

    Thanks for any help.

I bought some from this seller: http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/spikyjules/?_trksid=p4340.l2559

I bought the variety pack as I couldn't choose and the ones I've used so far are fine. It's worth messaging her though, as she has her own website and it's slightly cheaper than buying from her on ebay. She sent out a flyer with the website name on it with my order but I've lost it.

They are strong and the seller gives a very good service :D

Tamster :D You should sell on ebay, it is easy to follow the instructions, the hardest bit is writing a good descripion :D

How old is the little girl? I think anyone under 10 or 11 might like your lovely bunny heart better. But if over about 11 they'd probably prefer the bag as being more sophisticated. But I'm just going on what kids were like when mine were kids, which is a long time ago now! :o (elder just go married and younger has 1 year old twins!)

Whichever you decide, it's the thought that counts. :)

Nightmare doing Pass the Parcel stuff - I think we used to put a sweet in each layer and a small packet of sweets in the middle... Plus then there was the trying to time the music so everyone got a sweet! ;) Guess when the twins get bigger we may be roped in to wrap the parcels. Kind of miss all of that stuff! :)
