thanks all, yes it is my birthday, i didnt manage to get to cromford mill might just get a quick hour in buxton!

dd is having a birthday party at home next saturday and we have just bought a sandstone fireplace for the lounge so we have been fitting that the last couple of days, so today was the remedial work that had to be done after that.

how is it when you do one job you always end up having to do something else.

after this we need to buy a fire to go in the fireplace and i am not doing anything else for a while.

we moved in new years eve and have been doing something one way or another since then.

dh wants to do a bbq tonight now, as thats what i am supposed to be doing for the party next week, so he wants to try it out to make sure its ok, its not a normal bbq it was built into a stone pillar on one end of our balcony, so before i burn down our new house he wants to test it out tonight for my birthday.

personally i was looking forward to taking my dd out for a meal, but never mind may get to cromford tomorrow and have lunch there instead

I decided to go back to basics today and I made a tote bag from a flat sheet I was given :D
    orangebag1.jpg?t=1308928631
I put a zip pocket in the bag as Im now getting better at doing them :rotfl:

The top of the sheet looked so good I made it top of the bag and the straps, the lining is the same as the outer fabric :D

I love the Skinny Minnie and Busty Bertha.:rotfl:

My buxom friend calls hers, Gladys (after nurse Gladys in Open all Hours). Mine is called Mrs Slocombe (from Are You Being Served) - I will be as delicate as possible in my explanation;) My cat always sits with me when I'm sewing and was frightened of my old make-shift dummy. However, she loves the new one and so obviously the new one is 'cat' friendly!:D The inference will be obvious to those familiar with the programme and for those who aren't, please forgive my private joke (or you could go to Youtube and search for Mrs Slocombe:eek:)
