Mooloo, Well done at being in the right place at the right time to get the dressmaking dummyI brought a cheap dummy thing from ebay so I can put tops on it, it is only the top half and the hook fell off so its attached with a hair band (I call her titty lil :rotfl:)

Ailsb - I know what you mean about your Mum, my Mum was always sewing, she loved all kinds of crafting and used to teach first at a hospital for mentally sick patients then at an old peoples home. She would really love all the sewing I do these days, and the crafts my sister's do too, one does the most beautiful cards, I'm not sure what the other is into these days lol but sure there is something. My brother has started painting now he is retired so all of us have a hobby of some kind. I would have loved her to come to the quilting class with us when we first went to learn.0

Thank you all for your kind words - sometimes things just seem to get to me. I feel more positive this morning. Going to speak to home insurance and see if we can add my sons Tuba to the insurance, that will save £10 per month so should still be able to afford son's tuba lessons, although will still need to cut back eleswhere.
Sharon - your makes are lovely.
HMO - didn't know it was your birthday but Hart says it is so HAPPY BIRTHDAY.
Rufusdog - I know my Mum would be proud of me and I am happy that she knew I was into crafts but I never really took to sewing. Isn't it funny I must have taken it in really but obviously it wasn't cool when I was younger to sew. Now I'm older I no longer care whether I am cool or not.
Hart - morning!!! Have a good morning at work.
Off to take my son to school and then to a friends who is suffering from depression to go through some photos with her. Hopefully I will cheer her up and feel better myself.
Have a lovely day all.Cross Stitch Cafe Member #59 :j

more pictures on my blog of the luggage tag, washbag and makeup bag that I made for my DD for her holdiays she is in sunny Cyprus at the minute.
Lovely make. And I am jealous. I grew up in Cyprus and I would love to go back, but my BF who was also out there with me in the late 70's, will not go back. So unless I go on my own, its not likely I will get back there.:(When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

When one of my old ones was bent in a move, My Dad used those clips that you use on the hosepipe, (cannot think of the name), and attatched it to a camera Tripod for me. ! Lasted me years like that!.
(Until BF threw it out by mistake when we were moving from the big house to the cottage.).
DGD woke me up to tell me my "dress hanger" had fallen down. One of the legs had come off, so I may have to be adapting that one too. :rotfl:When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Happy Birthday HMO!
Mooloo I have never been to cyprus, would love to go one day!
this is the dressmaker dummy i got the thread seems to be off as it does not screw the top part to the bottom part tightly therefore leaving it lopsided. I thought of making it a dual purpose item by turning it into a lamp stand and it would be easy to remove the lampshade when i want to use it :-)
