ive just been reading you post ove in shabby chic, can you tell me which shop it is at cromford that sell the emma bridgwater stuff.

its my birthday on friday and if i am not needed here at home i may go over for some time on my own and visit the fabric shop but always interested in other shops that sell nice things too.

Hi hmo :D the shop is the little gift shop in the court yard, next to the coffee shop :D There is not a big selection but some nice little bits :D I love the strawberry bunting in there, might get it sometime when I take DD to work (coffee shop :D).

I love wandering around there oh and check out the vintage shop near the quit shop they do some lovely vintage cotton lace for a £1, the sort that you put on the edge of shelves :D

Thank you Cuddles for the link :D some very nice things to look at and try :D:D:D

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone have a pattern ot tutorial for a stuffed Christmas Tree like this please?

    4870085601_bd3e4c2dc8_m.jpg

I know I can buy the pattern, but its quite expensive. Just wondered if there was a cheaper way.

I posted this in January, and Justamum kindly gave me this link

    http://www.kolias.com/homegarden/crafts/xmastree.htm

Unfortunately the link no longer works. Can anyone find another tutorial please?

I googled stuffed christmas tree tutorials and found this one http://team-t-adventures.blogspot.com/2010/12/festive-stuffed-christmas-trees.html which looks like I would have thought to make it. Hope this helps :D.
For the gathering foot, it was irishgirl who bought one. When she posted about it I consulted the google and watched a youtube tutorial. I decided not to get one until irishgirl leaves feedback or I have time and lose patience ;). I have ordered the hemming foot though so you'll hear lots of stories about the mishaps I get into soon :p

I went to buy a little gift for Molly41, as she has not been well. The lady remembered me and asked why I hadnt brought her any stuff in to sell yet!.
So I have promised to make her some bits and pieces and take them in ASAP. She would especially like some bunting. So fingers crossed i can get the time to get some done.!
Left arm is playing up so will struggle to get things done today anyway. Oh well it was a lovely boost to my moods anyway.
I may have a go after lunch with the lamifix again.

Cuddles, google "using a gathering foot" and watch a couple of videos. It is easier than reading about it.
Wow- my hemming foot arrived this morning. That is an almighty fast turn around. Unfortunately, I haven't got time to do anything with it today I don't think and I had just put my machne away when it arrived so I've just shoved the packet in the box. Really I think that I'd better put an embargo on sewing until I have my sewing box painted because I keep shoving everything in and out of the box. I don't want anything to get damaged so if I can just hold fire until the sewing box is finished, I'll have somewhere safe with appropriate storage for all of my bits and bobs.
Besides which, my next piece of sewing to do is my blinds and I'm supposed to be painting the woodwork before I do that and it's the same paint as the sewing box so kind of makes sense. Heck, I might even have time to do that today. How exciting!

Hello:) I haven't posted on here before but have been reading for a little while. I ordered the hemming foot too, they'll be wondering why the sudden rush!
I'm very much a beginner, always said I couldn't sew, but really wanted to try and make some clothes. I managed a simple top which has encouraged me. There aren't any fabric shops nearby which is a shame, but I got a nice piece of printed cotton (about 2 metres) at a car boot sale for 50p so can afford to experiment with it:)

I had no idea you could get such clever feet for machines, I was nearly in tears trying to do narrow little hems on the sleeves so I hope this will help. Must remember to write a note telling me to change it back again though;)
