Oh no, now I have even more things that I want to make!
Sharon I have gingerly cut out a couple of wallet fronts, and ironed on the lamifix to it. One is in the lovely Skulls and roses fabric. Have to have a try and see what it will sew up like, but having to wait for DGD to go to bed now. She was getting up to too much mischief.
Spent the day at the carnival yesterday. After making so many costumes I was sad to see that there were only about 10 children there!
Although one of the Mums came up to me out of the parade, and asked if I was DGD's granny. When I said yes, she told me she was thrilled with her daughters costume. So that did make my day. ALas I didnt manage to get a picture of them all. Will have to see if the Nursery had any pictures taken.
My picture I took of DGD didnt turn out. So I will have to get her to try the costume on again for me, and take more pictures. I managed to make her a hat with some bells on the top, which she was thrilled to have, and it looked really good on her too.
Pity we had rain at the start and part way through so things were a bit damp squid! Oh well. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
as you know ive been trying to get my dd 8 nearly 9! into sewing.
i managed to get her a janome sew mini of her own and she made her little monster a few weeks ago.
well today she has made bunting for her friend jade.
i cut the felt triangles out for her and the fabric letters using my electronic cutter but she has done the sewing.
the only bit i did was i sewed the button onto the felt flowers for her using my machine.

Lol No, They are degus, I think that they look like small brown chinchillas. The cages have to be big as they are very active and like to run and jump.
Thanks for the coments about the beds though. I'm pleased with how they have turned out. I am going to be trying some more complex styles next week. So will post more photos if they turn out ok.

Hello expert sewing ladies (and gentlemen!). I need some advice - I need a fancy trim for the empire waist of my wedding dress. I've asked this question on The Sewing Forum, but no joy there. I've found lots of American websites that sell the sort of thing I'm after, but I think I need to see and feel it. And, it's one of those situations where I will know exactly what I want when I see it.
So, to cut to the chase, what I'm asking is if any of you know of any suppliers of fancy diamante/rhinestone,beaded/embroidered trims or ribbons either in the Manchester or Cambridge areas? I've tried Abakhan in Manchester, but they don't have anything. I'm no good at sewing myself so I can't make it myself!
Thanks in advance for your help.
