Hmmmm, could do but might just unpick and salvage what I can for another project. Annoying as i find most of their stuff easy to follow. Thank for the suggestion though :)

I did walk away for fear of chucking it all out the window into the rain

Well I got all ready for work, went to work and saw my lift share in the car park. We both asked what the other was doing there and I checked my diary. I'm not working tonight :o. So I came home and painted my sewing box. I'm getting there with all of my painting :D.

Pootleflump - thanks for the advice about a contrasting edge. I was already using a piece of denim (cut from an old pair of jeans) in the back of the bag so I unpicked it and added a larger piece in. To cut a long story short I've finished my bag.

Really pleased with it now and it onlycost the price of the skirt which was £1 from the CS. Well that is if you discount the price of a new sewing machine :D.

Not very MSE but I couldn't get either machine to work and decided to treat myself to a new machine, my other was over 23 years old. The MSE is bit is that it should have been £150 but I got it for £75.

Not sure if it sews elastic though will need to have a look.

    I've seen the light! :j

I was looking at a youtube tutorial yesterday and the lady was using a rotary cutter, cutting mat and a great big ruler, and I was amazed. She was cutting strips for bias binding and just lined the ruler up at 45 degrees and whoosh it was done! I can just imagine how long it would take me to do with scissors and how wonky they would be.

I know these things have been discussed before so I'll look back and see what was recommended because I must get them.

Ailsb your bag is great, I love the colours.
