it looks great, are there lots of pieces and how many mtrs does it take please.

also as its a download pattern how do you use it, sorry to be thick:)
I bought it as a pattern from jaycotts i have used a downloadable pattern and it is very easy to put together you print it all out and tape it together there is 1/2 inch allowance on each cut out pattern to overlap the pieces to tape them down it uses 3 metres

:rotfl: It is deceiving but there is quite a bit of white on it :D

I love your dress :T I can't belive Ive had that pattern in my fav's list for ages now and not attempted to make it :o but then again Im nervouse about making clothes as Im never sure if they will be too big or too small :o
Thank you, I bought the pink and white fabric after seeing the sellers other pictures of the fabric my finger hit the buy it now button without thinking!! so thank you for the link :T
I used jersey so its quite forgiving, and this dress is so easy as no zips just elastic under the empire line and across the back part therefore no real fitting in sizes required.

Hi every one just found this thread and so happy I did.

I love using my sewing machiene and always looking for new ways to make things. Just yesterday I added panels to an old T Shirt to make it larger. It was too small for me and now it fits like a glove just have to make it longer then it will be perfect

Welcome to the thread! Look forward to seeing what you make. :)

Sorry ladies but I need to vent :mad::mad:

Have cut out my bag (it's a messenger style bag for my netbook)- took ages to work out my measurements. Have finished the flap and it looks good. Whilst trying to attach the flap to the main body of the nag my maichine has thrown a wobbly. The tension is shot and I can't get it to work. Either thread keeps breaking or the bag of the work is completely looped.

Have had to put it to one side else I would have thrown it.

The worst thing is I don't think I've worked my measurements out correctly and the netbook wont fit once the bag is finished.

Off to my Dad's now - he says I can have my mums old machine. Not sure if this is working as hasn't been used for years.

End of rant. Thanks for listening.

If you think its going to be too small could you perhaps add a coordinating border round the main fabric to make it bigger before you sew it together. Hope you get it sorted.
I use this pattern the "C" version http://sewing.patternreview.com/Patterns/39764

here is the fabric i got off ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=280690846964&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_499wt_1159

here is a pic of me in it today I cut it out last night made it this morning and wore it today!!:rotfl:

I am looking serious in the pic cos i am no good at taking pics of myself lol

    Rufus love the quilts!

Wow that impressive! Looks like it fits perfectly. :T

Has anyone used this shirred maxi dress tutorial ? Looks quite easy so was maybe going to try it as Ive had shirring elastic in the house for months and it remains unused.

Irishgirl - the dress is beautiful. Just a quick visit from me. I will read through and catch up later. I have been back at work on a phased return, so no time to post.

I didn't use this tutorial when I made DD's shirred dress but I did similar. I actually used wof and shirred that then stitched it together. It's not a flowy dress though so if I was to make another, or one for myself, I would use extra fabric. I just need to learn how to cut straight now :)
