WOW What a bargain Sharon! :)

Love the picture pennib and I have had problems with commenting too but I can't spend as long on blogs this week restricted internet. I did spend 2 whole days tacking bunting flags though my fingers are very sore now but that didn't stop me sewing all afternoon.

I have finished sewing up my setting blocks :D. It was taking ages but DD sat and paired up the little sets of two blocks for me so I could sew the 4 squares. That saved me masses of time and I was able to blast through the rest of the sewing. So pleased to have finished this part. I can now move onto the sashing blocks after I've measured up all of the squares to work out how much bigger I've got to make some of the sashing blocks.
First of all, I'll have to work out the layout of the blocks though. I shall do this on my photobucket page. When it's done tomorrow, I'll stick it up here :)

    Pennib, what a fantastic picture!

Irishgirl that was a great bargain with the fabric.

My MIL gave me a duvet cover and pillowcases which have a pleated frill around them. I've used one on the pillowcases to make a pinny by just cutting the end off and attaching a waistband and ties. I've also added a pocket with frill on.

  • Wow - Sharon, that was a bargain!! Would you mind telling me where the shop is? Is it one of the Paragon's?

    Thanks

Georgia. love the apron, very clever and MSE of you xx

Kaz sounds like your quilt is coming on nicely, cant wait to see finished product xx

I was doing a bit more hand quilting last night, have done about a quarter of the quilt. Might get some machine sewing done this morning.

Bumped into my niece in town, said she liked my bags I had with me (the shoulder and shopping bag I made from the Cath Kidston fabric). Asked if I had any in my shop so told her I had one tote bag in there, then she said she will probably just buy some fabric and I can make her some bags. I hope she isnt expecting me to do them for nothing as the shoulder bags take and age to make and are not easy.

Pennib - the pictures lovely, so clever. Until I came on here I didn't realise that quilting could be picture - how daft do I sound!!!

Sharon - great bargain on the material.

Georgiabay - love the apron, very clever of you to have made it from a pillow case.

Rufusdog - that's the problem with running a business that's developed from your hobby. Your family and friends know that you "make things" and enjoy it and then expect you to make things for them free of charge without realising that it's you business. How about saying something in a jokey manner such as "tell you what as you are family I can make you one at a discount of XX%". That shouldn't offend her.

Off now to try and get the kitchen finished. It seems to have dragged on for ever. Once it's finished and the house is straight I can get going on my quilt.

    Have a good day everyone.

Yes Ailsb, thanks, I will have to say something like that. We are going to a big family party next weekend and she asked me if I can bring along things from my shop so she could have a look. I had to say to her no as a) I dont want any of it getting ruined or dirty, and b) she might expect me to just give it to her or something, so I told her once its on the shop it has to sell through the shop.

No sewing done this week alas, well not since monday.
All my plans went to pot with jobs needed for the family, running around, and now just as I need to do the Elf costumes I am having trouble with my arm so can't! So frustrating.
My Sew Mag arrived today. They sent the wrong pattern. So not a thrilled bunny!.

Lots of lovely makes again everyone. Fingers crossed and toes too, that my arm is better before tomorrow or I will be in trouble. Dont want to let the Nursery or DGD down.! eek
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
