    So anything then really :)

Right I think I will go and make up the 2 jeans I got here first get those out of the way then go and have a rummage :)

Another question, how do I get the elastic out of the waistband of a pair of jeans? the elastic has started to go on the one side without ruining the waistband?

I'm going to put ribbon then around the bottom of the overflap so it looks neater. The lining is pink and white you cannot see it very well in the picture

thanks Hart - I took out the bobbin holder AND managed to put it all back together and that seemed to do the trick and stopped the bird-nesting.
The machine must of taken a little knock or something (easy enough with my two running around!) Still having tension problems though - the bobbin thread is too lose. HAve found the tension dial but don't seem to be getting anywhere...should I be going towards the + or - to tighten the bobbin?? I never remember.

Shame about the DS dress Irishgirl. I remember my mum knitting me a crop top for Christmas one year, My fav colour is red but I am yet to see a nice shade of red knitting wool, think I wore it once on Christmas Day and then it sat in my Wardrobe for at least 10 years as I couldn't bring myself to charity shop it!

LOL no wonder DS didnt like the dress - I meant to say DD!!:rotfl:

Right, ok, lesson have been learnt from the shirt recon.
    1. Measure twice cut once
    2. Relax do not panic
    3. DO NOT sew whilst the kids are starting WW3 as mistakes are inevitable.

    The before...........................and after.

I used one of DS's shirts as a guide cut round the sides and straight up to the top
So that I was using the original buttons and collars. For the sleeves I kept the part that
was finished and had detail and just made a smaller version.

The main time taken was in getting the sleeves correct.

Fab makes again everyone. I've been at the park nearly 5 hours and I'm like a flamingo :o despite having loads and loads of sun cream on . The kids have gone outside to play (because they haven't played enough!) and I've retreated indoors to recover from the sun. It's so flaming hot here!

  • Everybody's been very busy on here. Love the upcycling / remodelling of clothes to fit the kids, what a great idea. Great bags too, liking the bling.
Made my mum's bag from the poppy fabric i had, not sure about it will see what she thinks! have bought her a voucher too so might see about making a card wallet to put it in from some of the leftover fabric.
Keep up the good work all!
