@ hart, how're you getting along with the squares? I have unpicked number 5 (don't remember if I mentioned that earlier) and have now cut out all 13 of the squares. Guess what I'm doing tonight? :D. I need to press out the squares from block 5 and some bits with creases in before I get to sewing and I can imagine it's going to be a long night :). I have yet to persuade DH into the shed so hopefully he'll do that tonight. He's driven past our house about 10 minutes ago as I had to cross the road in front of him to give a neighbour a parcel but he's not come in yet. Very odd! Unless he snuck past me but I don't think he did as he'd have had to climb over me or all of the rubbish in the hallway. The kids are playing out in the road so maybe they've accosted him along the way?
Anyhoo, I've got to go and get tea started.
Ooh, forgot to say, we went into a very posh looking shop in Street yesterday and they had some lovely dresses. I picked one up and said "hmm, I could make that". DD turned round and looked at it and said "Mum, why are you looking at that? You could make that!". So I guess I'll be making one soonish. The hem might be interesting though because I'll have to do a curved hem. I think. Hmm. Anyway, I'll get my quilt and my blinds done before I worry about making more clothes for me.

My DS is growing to fast and has run out of shorts so thrifty me.......cut up a pair of my old ones and recycled them.
I cut a very rough pattern/template from a pair that fits him added a seam allowance just to the J side as I was using the out seams of mine.

I tried to match things up but didn't have a lot of excess to play with the outer seams and all pockets are from the original
shorts I basically sewed the inseam front & back. 30min job. DS is happy and hasn't yet said I'm wearing girls clothes lol.

Evening everyone, I love those shorts Genie, very clever xx

I didnt have much time for sewing today as was out a lot but sneaked up for an hour this afternoon. Finished off another cushion for my shop but havent done the photos yet. Made a start on a new quilt as well, been piecing together some 4 inch squares in pinks and lilacs, doing a sort of chequer board effect with one highly patterned square then one more plain etc. Havent worked out how big it will be when finished. I have a denim one left to finish off as well which I keep forgetting about, must get on with that soon. All the top bit is pieced together so just needs the bottom cut to size and tacked on ready to sew together.
