Sounds like the kind of thing I would do lol. I cut out some teddy bears before Christmas to make up, had been given a large piece of fur so cut out enough pieces to make lots of bears then when I went to sew them up realised I had got the fur going the wrong way on the face, most important part lol. They were not too bad but look like they have moheicans (spelling) as their fur goes from the outside to the middle instead of other way round.

No pics yet but I made one of these http://www.thetraintocrazy.com/tutorial-hooded-beach-towel-backpack.html

There are a few things I'd change next time simply because I didn't pay much attention while doing it (my mind is elsewhere), I did a hem between hood and towle body when I could have just sewn the twoel body onto the towel and then wouldnt have been left with a hem at her neck. But mleh, its good enough for a trial. I also cut arm holes but not very neatly. Very easy to do if you are looking for a poolside cover up for your little one. Plus its a lot cheaper than ponchos and far cuter.

Just popped into say what a lovely sequin bag HMO. Bet your daughter loves using it.

I've never heard of a rotary cutter that can cut circles. What a good idea.

Hopefully this is the picture of the hat I made for my DGD today, while waiting for the other one to be born.

On the Magazine front, I have been getting the "Sew" magazine, but recently my Mum bought me a subscription to Simply Homemade, and I like it, and she gets the papercrafting stuff! I have also subscribed in a moment of madness probably to a mag called "making" which arrived today. Lots of bits in it, but if I will make anything I dont know. yet. Not looked at it properly. Been a bit pre occupied today.

I love the style of making magazine! I have flicked through it in shops a few times. The one out at the moment keeps calling me whenever I am in the shop because of the beautiful cover but I keep resisting temptation based on the price. I will buy it at some point in the future because £5 on one magazine could buy me a few metres of lovely fabric at abakhan so I just cannot justify it!

Sharon that sounds just like something I would do, note to self- think ahead!

Perhaps we will have to set up a lending library of magazines! I just borrowed a years worth of Sewing World from Phillspad!
