No no no no no! ;) You can't make the tie bag before I make mine  I've got a dress and a bag to make for a wedding on Friday next week, then I'll start on mine. Please :D Or, as my 20 month old niece says, 'Peeze?' ;)

Oh I am sure I wont be making it for a while, I have a lot of things to still make. Its just what I was looking at, honestly.
The ties are washed though, and on the line.:o

I have an outfit for DGD to make, hopefully about to start it today.
While I wait for the new baby to arrive.

:rotfl: I had looked at that bag for ages now and keep thinking I would like to do it so it will be great to see it made up here :D
I have so many things I want to do and someone always beats me to it :rotfl:

My stitches out tomorrow so hope to get on with some of the projects before going back to work (3 more wks off, I hope :rotfl:)
I have been doing some sewing but the stupid bandage gets in the way :(

I may not beat you yet! Like you too much on the list.
Good luck with the removal of the stitches and I hope that the hand is as good as new soon. x

Morning all, Glad some of you came and joined our other thread. Some of them on there wanted to know how to do the Folksy shop and get it on Facebook Page so I have written up what I think I did on my blog if it might help anyone.

Need to get some photos done today of my next two cushions. Also yesterday I sorted all my fabrics out into colours and started to cut out some 4" squares so I can make up some more quilts. Cant get upstairs much this week though as OH is back on nights again so will have to stick to the hand quilting for a few days. Might bring my cutting mat and bits downstairs tomorrow so I can do some of that down here. Ony trouble is the table is lower than what I use upstairs and I get a back ache after a while.

I've been away for the weekend so not had a chance to do any sewing yet.
Unfortunately the house looks like a bomb has hit it too. I must get it tidy and sorted before I can start any sewing. I have decided to try and cut out my blocks today. It won't matter if I'm unable to get them stitched together yet because I can cut as many blocks as I have time to do, then stitch them all together another day. It's just so busy here at the moment and I'm very aware that the holidays are next week too. I'm not even sure what I'm working yet so I have to check that out.
It's our anniversary very very soon too so poor DH won't be getting the quilt to open on the day. But, I will hopefully have tiled our utility room by then so I think I should be let off! I was going to start it today but have washing on the airer in there parked in front of the dehumidifier as it's too changeable to hang out. I have another load to dry which is going to have to go in the TD but at least it'll warm the house up a little bit :D. Lots of ironing too. Oh and I can't find the tile cutter either.

We were at legoland with Bil and Sil and Sil was admiring DD's dress. She has done far more sewing than I ever have so if it passed her critical eye then it's obviously OK. I know it's not perfect but that's why I'm sewing lots. I need to learn and I won't learn anything by being too frightened to sew. Hopefully she and I will be able to get up to fabricland together at some stage in the not too distant future because she wants to do some sewing too and was asking about fabric. I told her about this place and said I need to get back up there to get some more fabric but may actually place an order in advance and get it delivered to the shop so I can just collect and pay for it then. Or pay in advance I'm not sure how it would work?
DD loves the dress but I'm now thinking a white top with a squared off neckline lined with the pink stuff and pockets and bottom with a border of the pink stuff.
This thin shirring elastic that I got sent, I'm going to give it a bash sewing it with a finer fabric because when I examined DD's dresses, they all seem ok and not too itchy so I think they must have finer fabric.
I would really like DH to make me some labels this week so that I can make up some stuff.
Do any of you actually make a reasonable enough living with sewing then? I am by far too slow to ever consider giving up the day (night) job but wondered if it was even remotely possible to make non couture type sewed stuff for a living. I think that because clothing is so very cheap to buy now, it would be very hard to make a living making and selling childrens clothes because people wouldn't pay enough to cover an hourly wage for you.
I suppose if you were to factor it against paying for childcare then it could work out but I can't see how else. Maybe it's because I'm on a fairly decent hourly rate at work though?

Right, shift bum Kaz, do the housework so you can play with fabric!

Annoyingly had to stop before I started my DGD's outfit. I have run out of interfacing. So on the internet to order some more! Grr.
Took me ages to find a site from the list that actually had interfacing in thier search. Then of course had to compare a few first to get a decent price!

Back to the sewing room to do a bit more of somethingelse.

Hi - I treated myself to a reasonably sturdy fold-down table that comes out when I have the house to myself for cutting out. I chose the tallest/highest I could find, but it still hurts my back, so it's raised on blocks of cheap wood. It doesn't look good, but has transformed it for me.

Mooloo :DIt drives me nuts when I get time to sew then find I have not got all the stuff to carry on :( I have had to put my Aunts bag on hold till some more fabric for the lining arrives :( I need it to match the pockets (now doing the Belle bag) and I thought the piece left was big enough to do that but no it is 2cm too flipping short

I started to make my DGD a no-sew tutu yesterday then ran out of netting  so I have half a skirt hanging in the living room, it looks like a pink veil :rotfl:

I promise I wont push it too much after tomorrow Rufus :D I want to be fit to keep sewing :D

Kaz :Dsound like you had a fun day and I bet you felt so proud of your DD's dress, as you should do :D
I would LOVE to go to fabricland :D my idea of heaven :D:D
I too would love to give up work(evening job at least) and sew stuff for a living but living here no-one is interested in the work you put in to stuff (and this is sewing country :rotfl:) where my mum lives no-one does sewing and they loved my stuff when my Aunt sold some of it at a village sale she does every month and has asked me to take more stuff at the wkend when Im back there again :D
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

I started cutting out the bunting last night but got bored after about 60 triangles lol. I have plenty of time to get it done but it is slightly daunting when I think of how much I have to make.

Can anyone recommend any anti fray liquid? I want some for my fabric labels and some other things :)

Thanks rufus for putting the folksy/facebook things on your page. I will have a look later on when I get more time. :)

One quick Q, from me regarding lining.. remember I am sewing a zip into a pencil case? I would like to line it too. I just can't get my head round to visualise how to do it, it's driving me mad. Any help would be fab :)
