Well I did something a bit "out there" today. Been getting totally hacked off at work doing the job of 2 people cause its so busy and being too shattered to sew or craft so I resigned!! Been thinking about doing it for a while and today was the day. Hopefully this means that in about 3 weeks when I finish up I will be able to do what I love. Sew, Sew Sew!!! :D:D:D

Wishing you lots of luck Pootle :D these bosses take the mick too much and expect you to be robots :(

    Good morning

I'm hopefully going to start some patchwork today, If my arm decides its going to work, its still aching from cutting the squares yesterday.

Just need some imagination now on the patterns :) I have a paddington bear pillowcase that I want to use as the middle bit.

Sometimes its nice just to get a bit of space - even if its only for a few months. Enjoy your time sewing :)

Been looking at Mr Argos, and they have a sewing machine on half price, with £10 off sewing magazine as well.
    If anyone is interested.
Seems to have basic things, although maybe not for quilters.

Bored, and fed up, feeling so unwell, an that means left arm/neck not allowing me to sew. Even had to type with one finger! For a touch typist thats tough going.!

Oh hope you are feeeling better soon Mooloo :( I know how you feel, I have to type 1 fingered :( and this no sewing is driving me nuts too :(

Claire :) hope you feel better soon too, aint we a bunch of poorly sewers lol

The machine looks great for beginners, I started with one like it and it did what I wanted for the 1st year but OH treated me to a Brother one at xmas that does a load of embroidery stitches too (not that Ive had time to try all of them :o)

My new quilting ruler came today, it allows you to cut accurate diamond shapes. I did toy with buying a triangle one but maybe next time as the one I brought was cheaper :D and I want to do more star pattern quilts (as soon as I can).
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

ok all my squares are cut and ready, but I never allowed for a seam allowance so I'm going to have fun getting them to fit together.

I am yet to master seam allowances so I just try to be consistent and use the edge of my foot as a guide and hope it all works.

The only difference will be they will be smaller, if they are of a symetrical shape. But if not, thats where the difficulty will come I am sure. Not that i have sewn a quilt in many many a year, and that was by hand! But as a pattern cutter, of quite a few years, thats where the problems are, if your not consistant in the seam allowances.
    Happy sewing all.
Just back from the doctors. After nearly an hour with the doctor.! Changing my medication back to what it was before, see If I am better for a bit. But not allowed to stay on such a high dose for long! Back to physio as well. !
