now you see I obviously have different tastes, as this is the kind of thing I would call a day dress for me, anyway http://www.kwiksew.com/catalog/cat_detail.cfm?pid=3876&Cat=Misses&Level=Dresses&QL=MissDress

For sewing machines, I found that Silver Viscount were very good, and the after service is very good. My actual machine is now 8 years old, but they still will service it for me, for £35 which is brilliant. Infact they will collect it for me, and deliver it to my Mums as one of thier employees goes to the gym near her! (or i have collected it/left it at the gym even!).
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.

It was the company you have hyperlinked that has bad reviews for customer services when you google it the owner accused one customer of scamming when they entered their work address for delivery instead of their home address even though it was an option. He ranted at them over the phone. I will look at the other model somewhere else though. I'm in Sandwell in the West Midlands if anyone knows a good shop?

i have heard that about this company before but only after i bought my machine.

i have to say i phoned them asking about a different model that i think is now discontinued and spoke to the owner who was very helpful, i paid for my machine at 3pm and it arrived the next day before 10am.

they work with ideal world and create and craft now so maybe they are trying to sort out their image, however i have heard them say many times that they are a family business and been in business over 100 yrs i think.

so they must be doing something right surely.

i have no connection to them at all just a customer

Thanks for the replies hmo and pixie.
Gosh not sure what to think now. Maybe I'll use a credit card to order which will protect me more. Can I ask if you bought an ex display model or new machine?

Well I did something a bit "out there" today. Been getting totally hacked off at work doing the job of 2 people cause its so busy and being too shattered to sew or craft so I resigned!! Been thinking about doing it for a while and today was the day. Hopefully this means that in about 3 weeks when I finish up I will be able to do what I love. Sew, Sew Sew!!! :D:D:D

I would buy what you can afford, that does the basics that you need, and the few extras that you hope you will need. It will not really matter too much if its an exdisplay model or not, or shouldnt as it should be garranteed anyway.?
By buying the display models you may be able to afford something that otherwise you might not have been able too. So thats a bonus and MSE as well.
    Good luck in your choice.
Have you looked via a cashback site as well? I havent tried, but maybe its worth looking.?:D

Wow, I did that years ago when I was suffering from stress due to the job I was doing. I luckily managed to get work as a temp back then!

    Good luck with it!
