  • Kandipandi - ty . I really couldnt say how long its taken me so far but once you have the order of the squares worked out sewing them together doesnt take very long and neither does sewing the length of squaresonto the quilt. I tend to do a bit here and there. I would like to finish it completely before mothers day as it would make a nice present for my mum .

  • whoopido thank you that link worked. wow them capes were great - not sure mine would look as good tho!! ive bookmarked the site so i can nosey at the other things to make when i have the time!

well i managed to finish the skirt part of my dd's princess dress last night. the final step was making some roses to attach where the chiffon is gathered up. i made them using some red voile and some gold glittery ribbon - the gold looks quite striking against the red!
so far im really pleased with my self! dh hasnt even had to get it out of the bin once, which for me is really good going!!!!
popping in town tomorrow on the look out for a white spaghetti strapped vest - which is probaly going to be like looking for a needle in a haystack at this time of year. hmmm, we'll see!
hopefully i can find one and then get started on the top part!

think ill try and get some pics on in the next couple of days!

Iv been busy sewing curtains and doing repairs all day yesterday. Im so glad the curtains are done, they have been sitting about for ages! I lined them and added a blackout lining to the curtain hook and I slept in this morning!
Just finished a simple book bag from some roll ends of fabric I have got, I'll post pics later when my batteries charge up, but it was so simple to make and I think I might run a few of these up to put away for christmas pressies to add to my other bits.

Kandipandi - I'd love to see pics if poss - your book bag sounds cool . Not sure I'm up to curtains yet but bags I could maybe take a stab at....:o particularly as I have loads of scraps of material that I can't bring myself to part with! Another fab project to add to my list....? :) Lucy x

Here is my first attempt at a book bag, thought I could use it to fold up and keep in my handbag in an attempt to stop using plastic bags.

I followed the instructions from here:
