Not sure if I have posted about sewing machines before but any suggestions will be most gratefully received. I like the look of this one http://www.janomesewingmachines.gur.co.uk/janome_memory_craft_4900qc-2612 but it is really a bit/alot out of my budget. Would it be worth saving for a bit longer as I imagine it to possibly be the last machine I buy, my last one has lasted approx 34 yrs. I want to be able to quilt sew etc and also have upper and lower case lettering. Please help?

voguepatterns.com are having a 3 day sale - all McCalls $1.99, all Vogue (including Designer) $3.99. Even with shipping to the UK this is a great price. Three top price Vogue patterns for £16.50 delivered.

Sorry not to post a link - the site won't let me log out.

You won't save as much if you don't buy the designer patterns, but I think Vogue's Very Easy are often easier than other makes.

I had to stop myself buying a couple of Advanced (in difficulty) patterns, both because they looked a real stretch, and because they were clearly designed for someone a foot taller and 2 stones lighter than me. Humph.

I havent used them but have seen them mentioned in sewhip magazine. So imagine that they are are reptuble company.

I have used crafts and quilts for cheap fabric packs. Excellent service - they rang to see if I still wanted my order as they had to change one of the fabrics in the bundle. Only thing was the packs are 1/2 & 1/4 yards and NOT meters.

Just realised that I have them in my bookmarks as they have this fab stuff - chalk cloth

Very expensive but I was thinking along the lines of a crayon roll/roll-up drawing board for the boys on car journeys.

Lol:rotfl: most of the things on my to do list are never going to be made, it is that long:rotfl:
