Ooo Hart thats great. Love that contrast between the inside and outside. Have you done your craft thing yet?0 -
Hi Pootle
not done the craft thing yet, it's next Thursday
I am getting a bit nervous though. Im just not sure what prices to put on the stuff I have done
It looks ok but my stuff is not perfect, I have the odd wobbly line so what does anyone think? I don't want to make a loss but I dont want to over charge and end up bringing it all home
It is at a childrens play and party center (my work place) so it will be mostly mum's with little ones as it's 10am -2pm.Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a timeand Love sewing

Sue, I would take into account the money you have outlayed for each item so that you at least cover your costs (fabric, thread etc) then add on a bit more to cover your time. There is no point in doing it at a loss as it defeats the purpose. As you get into the swing of selling your things you will feel more confident about adding more on and you will get a better feel for what people think each item is worth. Even if you just add on a tiny bit you will know that its a fair price. Try and stay confident about it. Your stuff is lovely x0

All your makes are gorgeous Hart, I can't see you having any trouble selling them - I'd buy them if I were at the craft fair. Good luck! xox0

Hart I would use the fayre as an experement and take different price stickers - start at higher end and see if things shift and if they dont shift then reduce but not to the point where you loose money ...also dont be despondent if you have some left...try just it as a learning experience
Enjoy! Spent the eve trying to find two holes I saw in quilt (lesson learned - pin as soon as you see a hole or spend hours trying to find the flipping things!) and snipping all the odd bits of loose cotton! Tomorrow is doing edges and tidyup and then sat is the sandwich making bit!

Hart, I think the things you've made are great, and the sort of style you do is really popular right now (well it amongst the mums that I know anyway) I wouldn't worry about imperfections as people can see what they are buying and anyway they are never as bad as you think they are.
I hope it goes well, I can imagine how nervous you must be, but do try and enjoy it. It must be an amazing feeling when someone buys something that you have made.
Please let us know how you get on - good luck! x0 -

Hi Hart,
The trick with Craft Fayres is to have something for the children to buy at pocket money prices. I have found even if you don't sell much, at least the pocket money items cover the cost of the stall. I made a couple of little bags from the pockets of old jeans, and put a bit of cord on them so the girls could wear them like a cross body bag, and added a little embellishment and sold them for £2.00 each, I have also sold badges made on a badge it machine with popular images on them (Hello Kitty, ben 10 etc.,) and sold them for 50p. The items need to reflect the age group of the children at the event you're at!
