I have enjoyed making them so much, much more than anything else I have ever made. Seeing him in them has made it even more lovely. I think I am hooked! What are you doing for the space theme?

Oh nothing exciting, I was going to make her an outfit out of shiny fabric but when she saw it she, quite rightly, said but astronauts wear white, so out came the white leggings and a long sleeved t-shirt. I've made her a misson badge with her school name and I adapted the NASA logo took it into Paint.Net, removed the Nasa and added her schools initials, I printed them onto iron on transfer paper and ironed onto the t-shirt. We did try covering her boots with kitchen foil but it didn't work very well.
I know I could have made her a helmet or some sort of backpack with cardboard and kitchen foil but to be brutally honest I can't be bothered!!!!

When I was making the logos I intentionality left the date off and her name so that I can use the same outfit in 3 years time when YD no doubt does the same topic! If the school can recycle the curriculum I can recycle the outfits!

lol, I was thinking silver too - where does that concept come from? I had never heard of piant.net but googled it and it looks great. I'm not very good at photoshop type things but really must learn!

Shirl - It's for Comic Relief, they are having fancy dress all week. He only had a pirate costume which was pretty rubbish, just jeans, red T-shirt and bandana so I had been meaning to make some proper costumes for a while now. He has a few fancy dress birthday parties coming up too so will be handy for then as well.
  • Hi,

Although I read this thread, I haven't posted before so please be gentle!

I'm not too hot with my sewing machine, as I can never get the tension right, but I've just finished a pretty business card holder that I'm really pleased with.

    I used this tutorial.

I can't work out how to post pictures but I've put them on my blog if anyone is interested.

I've got quite a stash of material but I found it a real wrench to cut into the fabrics - I had to make sure I was right in the corner and used the minimum amount possible. Does anyone else find this too?

Struggling to keep up. But then thts not just this thread, its my own life!
    Loving all the makes.
I have another bag on the go, but my tension went haywire last night, and I got fed up, so I stopped. Maybe be better tomorrow. I have really bad sciatica today, as I drove further then Normal, which aggravates it, and the did 20 minutes in the garden. Turned round when making tea, putting the milk in the fridge, and now i can hardly move! Not good. My sewing machine is an old one, so only a foot pedal to sew. So no machining for me tonight.

Hot bath and early night, once more.!

Hello everyone - love the lion outfit, how cute xx, love the little ginger monkey as well, brilliant xx

I made another top yesterday, used a couple of my new buttons I acquired so coming to good use (pic on blog). Was out most of the day but managed to find time to cut out another top this afternoon, have some of it pinned ready to start sewing but was just too tired to face it today so will have a go tomorrow morning.

Measured up GDD yesterday too so I can cut out her skirts as and when I get time to do them.

Mooloo - hope your sciatica clears up soon. I had that when I was pregnant with DS2 and it would keep me up at night.

My Nan was a fab home baker. But she would never bake if she was under the weather because she believed the cakes would not come out well. (I think that is a fairly common old wifes' tale)

I think that might also be true with sewing!

Treacle you have another follower. I do love a bit of "tut". Dh prefers a more minimal look. Now I can look without DH moaning about all the "clutter" lol

I have also been collecting vintage linens but you might be a bit:eek: if I tell you that I am planning on using them in a patchwork at some point! Better that they are used than sat in a drawer for another 50 years! (although it may well be another 50 years before I do anything with them lol)
