There is a good tutorial for a floor cushion here that is on my To do list. Not sure if it would work with fleece or not though. You wouldnt need to do it with piping if you didnt want to.

Thank you for that fab link - I have always struggled with sided cushions and things, I once tried to make a floor cushion and whilst it turned out OK it ended up as a posh dog bed for the boot of my car as it was slightly rough around the edges and a bit wonky:D

A couple of months ago I made a window seat cushion for my niece and it took me seven evenings to finish, she was over the moon with it but I think I am also a total perfectionist but lack of knowledge means I go about things the very long way - this tutorial clears a few things up:grinheart

I am going to print it off at work tomorrow ;-)

Hoping to have something positive to add soon - have been clearing out and getting bits together, I want to make some summer dresses for the girls as I bought a lovely book off Amazon last year which I have yet to use!

I also want to make a couple of bean bags for the girls so the above link will be ideal but will make them a lot larger and add a lining bag for easy washing.

I made myself a new top yesterday with some fabric I bought at the weekend. Its cost me under £10 for the fabric and some braid to go around the neck edge. Photo on my blog.

My MIL gave me some buttons at the weekend, haven't had a sort out yet but bag was heavy. I found a jar of buttons in a CS too so have a nice selection now.

So happy with how these turned out...

Please excuse the mess in the background. I am not very domesticated at the best of times and with all the sewing I stand no chance!

The stripey fabric was £2.25 for 1m at Hobby craft and the black for the wings and sting was a pair of DH's work (uniform) trousers that he has outgrown!
The body has a layer of wadding to make it puffy. It was really easy to do and I feel it may become the basis of many more costumes!
I need to find a black hairband or I might just cover this one? I need a black long sleeve top to go underneath. I think H&M do them so will see how much they are, otherwise I might try and make one, wish DH had an old black t-shirt I could cut up but he doesn't wear black. I got a pair of black tracksuit bottoms in Sainsburys for £2.50 which will come in handy anyway.

This was made from 1m of fabric which my mum gave me a while ago so I am glad I have put it to use. I am going to see what the minimum amount of fabric I can buy in Hobbycraft is (I think it is 10cm) as fake fur is £10 for 1 m there but if I could ust buy a 10cm strip it would be handy to have some in. I plan on putting a tuft in each ear to finish it off.

I'm hoping to facepaint a little black nose and whiskers on the day too!

Wow those are wonderful. (cute little daughter as well!) You will have a queue at your door with all the mums wanting costumes.:T

I love your top Rufus, the fabric is lovely :D I wish I could get my head around making clothes :o
You are so lucky to find buttons in a CS I struggle these days to find nice things now as everyone seems to shop in CS's a lot more now than when I 1st started going into them 15 years ago :( but I did find some very pretty blue flower curtains with matching bed cover (100% cotton) today for £3.99 so I had to have them and a very large white thick cotton sheet (both are in the wash at the moment :))
Getting myself sorted 1 day/1thing at a time :) and Love sewing :)

Oh dear! Everyone thinks he's a she - lol! I guess it's hard to tell when he's in costume though as he has long hair!
    Thanks for your comments though.

Rufusdog- just seen your blog for the first time (I promised myself I would stop reading everyone's blogs as I could do that all day!) and you have made some lovely things. I really like the denim quilts, that is now on my to do one day list!

Thanks ISOM, I remember your gorgeous quilt & I had already bookmarked it, I realised I should do that about halfway through reading this entire thread LOL!

At first I just thought I'd be able to keep the ideas and inspirations in my head with the help of notes saying 'useful' things like "quilt" "hoodie", "yarn balls :o" I've now realised I need to be a bit more organised.

So it was a quilt in similar style to yours ISOM but just white/cream/blue colourscheme - prob quite far back in this thread. Im sooo stupid!
