great makes everyone they all look fab, no sewing for me this weekend, spent most of saturday outside finishing a dry stone wall around a tree and tidying up the front of our new house, we have built a holiday let next door and i am trying to get it ready for bookings.

then at about 4 we had to go to a table top sale at school, i was shattered didnt feel like going but have to try and support these things.

yesterday i caught up on some cleaning and then dd and i went out yesterday afternnon for a few hours as it was nice and bright.

thought i may try my hand at making some clothes for dd doll, its a 'baby maddy' from elc if anyone knows a pattern for a simple dress or top and pants can you let me know.

i have been given a link from another forum but not had time to look at it and see if i can do it or if it will fit.

cushions and blinds are one thing, clothes are another!:)

I believe rounded shank sewing needles are ment for industrial sewing machines and overlockers! The ones for flat sided shanks are for home sewing machines.

    Cheers

    Sarah:D

Thanks Sarah, they are in a pack of about 40 needles so prob are industrial, my friend go them from her friend who's mother-in-law owned a haberdashery shop ...I think LOL!
Hmm not sure what to do with them now - might keep them in case I ever own an overlocker (whichis a dream of mine!)

Wow, loads of makes for me to drool over, haven't had time to do any sewing this weekend...must try harder!

Dizzytina - Love the owl fabric, was the button placement intentional? It looks like one is sat on an egg :T

Bexter - the packpack for your DD is gorgeous - I've bookmarked that tutorial.

Miss Pixie - wow you're been busy - love the makes and wish I could sew that fast, seems to take me aaaages.

ISOM - beautiful quilt & colour shceme.

Vicki - awww so cute! Love the fancy dress outfits, you are v talented.

Got some chocolate coloured cotton fabric from my friend now, (along with some black PVC ) so thinking about planning my 1st quilt (with the cotton not PVC:rotfl:)

Anyhoo - I remember when I first found this thread that someone had posted a pic of their quilt in lovely cream, beige and blues, quite minimalistic, but I didn't bookmark it and now I cant find it in the hundreds of pages  Can anyone remember it or was it yours please?

I tried to make a little shirred top to go with a tutu, DD can dress up as a princess or a pirate all week at nursery. It turned out okay... but far too small for DD. Luckily It seems to fit Missy Teddy just fine. Shame, the shirring looks great. It's pink satin. Don't know if I have enough elastic to do another one, so it will be a long sleeved vest and a tutu. Though, her tummy is a bit off so she may not need it for tomorrow.

I have a huge bag of stuffing that is asking for a project (only because I have no room to store it). Was thinking a big squishy floor cushion made of fleece? I love fleece.

There is a good tutorial for a floor cushion here that is on my To do list. Not sure if it would work with fleece or not though. You wouldnt need to do it with piping if you didnt want to.

My fleece is too stretchy. But I might try and find some nice thick fabric to do a couple of those, they look great :D

ISOM I had forgotten how lovely your quilt is :D it is a shame our stuff gets so far back on this tread we loose track of the lovely things we have made.
I have been making some more of the simple tote bags (Ive not got around to taking pic's of the latest but one is on my homepage :D).
